About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make life beautiful
ABOUT ME
Am a traveler by life and nature and a settler by circumstance - love literature, coffee, friends everywhere, starry nights and learning.
PHILOSOPHY
Not everything in life can be reasoned out & there is more to the world than can be perceived with the eye
We meet no ordinary people in our lives.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly by traveling to other people's places, though I've hosted a bit in Aqaba, Jordan for a few months as well. I've done several couch-surfing trips so far: one in the Netherlands (just to try it out), a few in France, and more recently in Jerusalem - all very positive experiences! Can host for the next month or so, and hope to be able to do more in the future.
Interests
Giving second books a new home, biking/running, philosophy and thinking about Literature, Fantasy and Tolkien&Lewis, traveling as much as possible, going for unplanned walks, sea & ocean, sailing, finding little cafes that serve the best coffee in town. Also love chilled hanging out with friends, watching movies (everything except horror), camping, hiking....
Planning on: US roadtrip, hiking through the Middle East, further studies in Jerusalem and a couple of more years living in Europe!

Music, Movies, and Books
Before Sunrise & Before Sunset & Shadowlands; Dead Poets' Society, Into the Wild, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; currently into House of Cards, Daredevil, Outlander and the old Pride and Prejudice; guilty pleasure is Marvel.
Jane Austen, Chaim Potok, Dostoyefski, Frank McCourt, Camus, Kafka, Kierkegaard, C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Oscar Wilde, Umberto Eco, Harper Lee; and many many many others
Very easy with music, like almost anything except very diehard metal/rock. Love soundtracks, as well as classic rock, indie, 70s/80s stuff
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
living on a cruiseship refitted as a hospital ship for five years of my life, traveling between West-Africa and Europe; two month volunteer trip to Israel - fell in love with Jerusalem in summer on friday nights when the shofar sounds; seeing the rock churches of Lalibela, Ethiopia; camping out with the bedoeïens in the desert; Christmas at a Sierra Leonian tropical beach.
Teach, Learn, Share
Love to learn ancient Greek & Hebrew sometime, and fluent French & Arabic.
Know French & German, sort of, and learning Latin and Syriac right now.
What I Can Share with Hosts
lots of languages and books, some(!) cooking skills (mostly limited to extensive hot breakfasts), a love for in-depth discussions on literature, philosophy, religion, politics, and more, a love for long walks and many many travel stories!
