ABOUT ME
I like to live the perfect balance between exciting adventures and sharing a warm home. Have the cake and eat it I guess. To make things easier, I figured it does not necessarily have to be at the same time. And it does help to remind myself regularly of apparent contradictions and how they can coexist. Anyway, it is easy for me to have lots of plans, harder to decide on what to do first. This not at all to say nothing gets done, rather to say that what looks chaotic has at some level some order to it. If you don't see it, take a step back. It works for me.
On a practical note. I work at home or on some location somewhere in the world. Suits me fine because I'm free to choose how and where I do whatever it is that needs doing. And we (there's three of us) usually invite some extra life over, so home is a place where a lot is going on anyway. Other places where I very much like to be are rainforest, mountaintops, cinemas, cosy pubs, halfway down the stairs, out in the snow, warm rain, the back row of a theatre, deserted beaches, in the middle of an inspiring conversation, in the light of the setting sun.
I'm not sure if this answers the question alright, but it definitely tells you something about me (albeit from an idealized point of view)

By clearing up misunderstandings between kite and couch surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I used to teach adult foreigners and hence had the world in my class. Now with the cs-experiences, I have the world in my home. Hoorray for consistency!
Interests
Long talks. Sudden smiles. Watching the stars. Not talking. First footsteps in fresh snow. Closing time. Making food. Singing. Afternoon coffee. Making up characters. Driving. The wind through me. Getting mail. Skiing. Handbreakies in rental cars. Unexpected dinner parties. Getting something together. Telling jokes to myself. Sound of frosted grass. Getting lost in a book. Opening doors, inside or outside. Taking off. Be hit by the heat on a tropical island. Walking the tarmac. Getting my hands in the dirt. Cracking up with a stranger. When strangers feel familiar. Horsebackriding. When friends feel like strangers, resets life. Falling back on me and be caught by a smile. Margheritas. Swimming in icy cold water. Catching a great image and press the button just in time. Go with the flow of the day. Getting a break just when I need one. 'Any where the wind blows' days and nights. What else.. well, what've you got ..

Walked through a mangrove forest (water breast high, they ran out of canoes)
Have a conversation with a South-Korean woman with a hearing deficiency, we used a combination of Benghali/Korean/International sign language, some English words and a lot of good understanding.
I tend to think a lot, so basically any experience always thrills me, because no matter how hard I try, I cannot imagine an exact copy of something actually happening
