About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Elective!

ABOUT ME
I'm a medical student from little old NZ and I'm all about getting out, doing things, and meeting people.

MY PHILOSOPHY
He aha te mea nui o te ao
What is the most important thing in the world?

He tangata, he tangata, he tangata
It is the people, it is the people, it is the people

-Māori proverb (Māori is the indigenous language of New Zealand)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I lived in France, I went to the couchsurfing meetings every week and absolutely loved it: establishing a life in a new city isn't easy but the other couchsurfers were so open and welcoming, they became my friends straight away. I have done quite a bit of couchsurfing in Europe before and it has been a very positive experience, I love this community. I hope to return the favour one day when I'm no longer a poor student :P

Music, Movies, and Books

The best kind of music moves me or makes me feel something, from joy to sadness. I've always been a huge Queen fan, and I love a bunch of pop artists, but as a pianist my real love will always be classical music.

I love Wes Anderson films for the cinematography, and then along the same lines as my taste in music, if it evokes an emotion it's good in my books.

Speaking of books... three of my favourites are The Book Thief and The God of Small things because they are so beautifully written, and The Power for it's feminist message. I like to read quite a bit of non-fiction as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in Aix-en-Provence, France for a year working as an au pair for three beautiful boys!
Saw the sun rise in Botswana
Swam with dolphins in Kaikoura (NZ)
Took a helicopter ride over the Milford Sound
Skiied between the trees in Colorado

Teach, Learn, Share

Open to learning new things from anyone (especially languages, styles of dancing, or cooking!), and hopefully I can share some of my culture with you too!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A smile, quality time, and good conversation, and a promise to host you in return if you decide to come to my side of the world one day! I think everyone should visit New Zealand at some point in their lives and I will always be happy to help those who have helped me :)
