About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make this big world a little bit smaller...

ABOUT ME

Life for me has been a whirlwind of possibilities. I recently graduated with my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. I'm just starting life in the "Real World" with my first full-time job out of college. I work as a mechanical engineer for a division of the government called NAVAIR down in Southern Maryland.

Last year, I studied as a foreign exchange student at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. Traveling around Europe gave me the opportunity to meet with different people from all over the world and really changed my perspective on the international world in general. I hope that everyone can get the opportunity to see what the world has to offer and I think that CouchSurfers is an incredible way to do that.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophy sounds like some pretty deep stuff... I like to think that living simply, respecting others, and doing what you can for everyone you meet will lead one to a happy life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to do any real couchsurfing, yet but I've heard the great experiences from all my friends who have. I'm finding out more and more that my job will require lots and lots of travel and I'm hoping to finally start couchsurfing for real.

When I was in Germany, I attended a couple couchsurfing picnics in Karlsruhe and helped host a couple surfers on the way. I also plan on opening up my new couch here in Maryland so if anybody wants to come see Southern Maryland, definitely let me know!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I haven't had any experiences regarding CouchSurfing specifically... But the way I found out about it was by meeting a student travelling by himself in Ireland and hanging out with him for a St. Patrick's Day celebration. He told me about CouchSurfing and I was immediately interested. I hope that I'll soon be able to take advantage of everything that CouchSurfing has to offer and share my experiences...

Interests

MEETING NEW PEOPLE! (that's why I'm here...)

Snowboarding, playing tennis, golfing, soccer, or some new and creative sport I've never heard of...

I'm also pretty interested in space and technology. I gotta admit I can be an engineering geek every once in a while...but aren't we all sometimes?
