About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Playing with my kids and keeping my own liferaft together
ABOUT ME
I am a natural resources professional and single part-time dad with three great boys. I grew up in small-town Missouri, and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand between undergraduate and grad school stints. I'm an excellent host when I'm around and most people find me very friendly and laid-back. I love meeting interesting people, and can spend hours talking and listening about most anything.
PHILOSOPHY
I really strive for authenticity, and value that in others. I've found that everyone has a story to tell that is amazing and cool, and get a real kick out of finding those stories in people, and sharing my stories with them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can host if I'm in town and don't have the kids with me (they get the place to themselves when they stay with me to keep their lives simple).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
First off, if you're from Ireland or Thailand, you'll go to the top of the list, because of the unbelievable hospitality I experienced from the people of these countries while living and traveling there. I've spent various times of my life living out of a backpack or a car so couchsurfing is old hat for me.
Interests
Hanging out and getting to know people, especially hearing interesting stories, experiences and points of views. I like writing, playing outside, and going on little adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books
Incomplete favorite movie list: Smoke Signals, Fellowship of the Ring, The Mission, Farewell my Concubine, Braveheart, Maverick...
Incomplete favorite book list: Ceremony, The Source, The Hobbit, East of Eden, the Milagro Beanfield War..
Music?: I like live bands, but otherwise I'm that guy that smiles and nods blankly when everyone starts talking about their favorite bands - I don't even own an IPod.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Despite all my adventures as a traveler, the best and most amazing to date has been being a dad.
