Overview
About Me
I'm from Switzerland, and currently in Japan for grad school: I basically use robots and algorithms to understand how and why animals move the way they do. It's really fun! You can check out some stuff here: http://www.cmplx.riec.tohoku.ac.jp/
Interests
Games such as go, Catan, SC2 etc., robotics, photography and electronics in general. Music, mostly acoustic guitar. Cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books
I particularly like acoustic music, but I like other stuff as well. Some random artists in no particular order: Jack Savoretti, Newton Faulkner, Jason Mraz, Rise Against, Yoko Kanno, Wagakki Band(o), Jurassic 5, Django Reinhardt, Belleruche.
Great books:
The Dispossessed, by Ursula LeGuin
Illusions, the adventures of a reluctant messiah, by Richard Bach
Starship Troopers, by Heinlein
Contact, by Carl Sagan
Movies:
Contact, even though it's very different from the book
Kino no Tabi, an anime about life, death and everything in between.
Cowboy Bebop, another anime which is just a classic with an amazing soundtrack
Teach, Learn, Share
I think photography is probably the best thing I can teach you. I'm reasonably good at it (see 'photos', you can judge for yourself : P), and I almost always travel with my camera, if you want to learn a bit (whether you have a DSLR, a simple point-and-shoot or even just your smartphone!) feel free to ask me! And if you're already better than me, I'd be happy to learn some of your secrets!
I also enjoy cooking and can share some tips about that, or... if you want to learn about non-linear dynamics, bio-inspiration or other more academic things, feel free to ask! : D
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm willing to cook if you'd like : ) Or I can bring you something, or... I dunno, you tell me!
Countries I’ve Lived In
China, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Switzerland
