About Me

Hello the world,

Who I am ? Julie, a passionate French teacher for foreigners, also involved with my housemate in a small organic restaurant in Brussels.
I think I'm an enthusiastic and smiling woman (I'm known for my uncontrollable laughter). I love to (slow) travel (that's why I'm on CS since 2009), to walk, to read, to eat (I'm a big foodie), to play boardgames with my housemates and to add parenthesis when I write ;-)

After a few sedentary years I'm back on the road and so excited about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to host a lot of people in the past but now that I live in a big house with 6 other people and that I work at evenings, it is hard for me to host on a regular basis. I organize events like chatting meetings or boardgames evenings.
As a guest, I'm very respectful and I love to cook some traditionnal belgian meal for my host (stoemp, waterzooi,...).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started CS in 2009 before to go for a one-year EVS in Italy. There I organised CS events and meet amazing people. CS definitely changed my life at this time and was one of the most incredible experience.
When I came back, we started to host a lot of people with a friend of mine. I especially remember the night we learned how to count the Japanese way or how to cook a delicious indian chicken.
Then I've travelled the world for 1 year and discover how it was to surf (a bit more challenging for me). I've been hosted by a lot of people, families and school (I had a creative project about interculturality in 15 primary schools arounf the world) and it definitely was the best part of my travel.

I am now eager to meet YOU, the stranger who is just a friend I don't know yet (quote found on a CSer's window in Liverpool)
