ABOUT ME

I have been staying in China for one year to get to know a new culture. It was one of the best experience so far in my life. During this year I met amazing people from all over the world.
I like to immerse myself in a different culture and live the local way of life. That's why i prefer to stay as long as i can in a country in order not to be only a tourist and do the tourist things, but also to get to know a bit more about the local culture.
I'd consider myself a polite and empathetic person with a bit too much german straightforwardness.
I like people with a good sense of humour who don't take themselves too serious.
I worked as a volunteer teacher in a rural part of the dominican republic for a few month before starting university which at the moment is taking up way too much of my time ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sharing experiences, getting to know different cultures and new aspects and thoughts about lots of different things is why I registered on couchsurfing. I think that couchsurfing experiences can promote intercultural exchange and provide and further mutual understanding between people from different cultural backgrounds.

Interests

I've been quite interested in east asian cultures for a few years now which led me to major in Chinese Studies(minor economics) in university.
Even though I'm absolutely musically untalented, I love to listen to different types of music.
Concerning sports I'm not as active as I should be but in summer I love to swim and dive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My stay in China was one big amazing thing. Climbing the great wall, walking around one of the biggest cities in the world, living in a chinese hostfamily and going to a chinese school.
But I think the most memorable time was my trip to Hongkong. It's the most amazing and beautiful city I've seen so far. Definitely a travel destination to go back to.
