I'm a lanky goofball with some sort of a degree and a lot to say. I love communicating and seeing not only the differences between cultures but the similarities as well. I'll be either the funniest, the loudest or at least the tallest in any group.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed during my European trip and now that I'm situated enough in Austin I can't wait to try the other end of it!

Interests

I like writing while riding on my scooter into a pool while drinking a mugpint of beercoffee. Okay maybe not all those at once.

A Song Of Ice and Fire, Sometimes A Great Notion, Slaughterhouse Five, A Confederacy of Dunces, 100 Years of Solitude, American Gods and the Sandman series. A lot more graphic novels.

Current favorites for the ears: Local Natives, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Shy Girls, Haim, Youth Lagoon, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Dave Brubeck, Burt Bacharach, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaping off of an 80 foot cliff into a waterfall and surfacing in time to see the spritely mist shimmer in the sun seconds before I realized I had turned my butt into hamburger meat.

Arriving at Mt Rushmore ten minutes before it closed and interrupting a Welcome Home ceremony for a returning troop of Army Rangers from Afghanistan, and when the MC asked if anyone knew the words to "America the Beautiful" this little old lady led everybody in song. I'm not patriotic, but I was then and there.

Climbing to the forested area of Parc Guell in Barcelona and spending an afternoon talking about the world with two other random lone wolf travelers.
