Hello there - I'm Lila (they/them)! I'm a french person living and working in Germany. I'm 26 and in a long term relationship with my boyfriend Quentin who's also my travel buddy. We both work in the videogame industry and enjoy taking breaks from our routines by traveling whenever we can. I'm nonbinary and neurodivergent which means that I'm looking for hosts that'll make me safe, but If I do, I promise I'm quite a little sunshine and enjoy meeting new people and hearing everyone's journey so far in their life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've used couchsurfing quite a lot when I was young and daring (still am young technically but clearly less daring then my 19yo self). I loved the sense of community and excitement that meeting people through this site brought me. I have had rough experiences on here too, but I know there are good and kind hearted people out there for me to meet!

I want to spend a bit of time with my host, maybe cook for them, enjoy a good meal and good stories together.

Interests

I'm a musician and artist on the side, I sing and play the guitar, the piano and the ukulele. So we could also jam together !

I'll like to read and write too ( story, texts, songs .. ). I'm onto art in any kind of its form ( drawing, sculpting, painting, acting, filming...). I'm not a very sporty person but i'm a true mermaid. water is my element. I also like to go hiking sometimes.

We both love board games and are always down to play new games with anyone. We can also speed teach you a lot of the games we know :D

My boyfriend and I are also big foodies and enjoy fun culinary experiences. I'm vegetarian so It does limit my options but I like the challenge of finding niche little places.

I'm very open when it comes to music but my favorite genre are Jazz and Swing ( Old Jazz, pop/Jazz, 20s swing, electro swing.. ), pop music ( indie & more mainstream things ) and soul music, r&b.

My favorite authors are Paul Auster, Jane Austen Haruki Murakami, Paulo Cohelo, Neil Gaiman , Dai Sijie, Markus Zusak, John green & Balzac.
My favorite film directors are Xavier Dolan, Tim burton and Spike Jonze

Some of my favorite show include : Game of thrones,Sherlock, doctor who, and lots of korean dramas..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've written a script for a short movie with some friends, I'm acting in it and I've composed the music too. That's one project that I'm very proud of and through which I learned a lot too. We are going to show it in a small cinema where I live and try to take part in some contest.

I've raised a goat whose mom was been killed by an eagle. I was the only one who could still approached him as he was a grown up and he was always protecting me. Then I moved to Germany.. Goodbye country side, hello urban life.

I traveled alone around south korea for a month in 2016 using couchsurfing :) It was such an amazing experience for me as a young adult before leaving my house to study. I've met awesome people who shared their life, history, food and bed with me and it is something i'll never forget.

I can teach you how to make some vegetarian version of some classic french dishes

I can teach you some art or storytelling skills as I am a professional narrative designer and a freelance illustrator.

I can teach you singing 1.0.1 as I was a vocal coach during my college years.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, cooking is a huge hobby of mine and I think it could be fun to cook together. Maybe learn one popular dishes from your and my country.I can always bring my good mood and conversation, maybe some German beer if you'd like too !
Maybe bring you something from Germany or France you couldn't buy in your country if you're really far away. I think that everything else aside, the memories and experiences that we could make together are the most precious gifts !
