About Me
Sorry, this profile description is meanly out of date, I'll work on a new one soon :)
CURRENT MISSION
Save money to study in Japan !
ABOUT ME
Objectively : I was born in the South of France, and I spent most of my life there, until I moved in Northern Norway for my studies. Now, I'm working in Paris as a research analyst (that's actually quite difficult to explain this job briefly, so I'll pass for now ^^), and after this I'll be done with my studies, which is great, right ?
I'm a bit sad though, because it probably means I'll also be done with all the volunteer jobs I've been doing meanwhile, as a broadcast journalist, a French teacher, a waitress in an international students coffeeshop, a journalist for an English-speaking newspaper... and a couple more jobs I don't even know how to sum up ! They all were wonderful experiences that I'll keep in my heart forever.
Subjectively : I am very easy-going and tolerant, and that's useful because I evolve in a "highly-international" community. I guess I'm a nice person, very eager to discover new things and meet new people... but I guess this is what bring all of us here anyway ! I can be extravagant sometimes, when in a very good mood. I guess I am funny, too, but maybe a little too much sarcastic. Of course I'm very careful with people I don't know well, but don't hesitate to tell me what it is okay to laugh about for you, for the last think I want is to offend you !
Interests
Movies, especially Asian cinema.
Literature, even if I stopped reading these last two years because too intensive literature studies made me unable to simply enjoy a book.
Trying to learn as many languages as possible and dropping whenever it gets too complicated - still trying to cling to Japanese, though.
Spending entire days just talking to people and playing board/card games.

Music, Movies, and Books
If you understand French (even at a basic level), you'll find anything you need to know about my "cultural" tastes on my SensCritique account : http://www.senscritique.com/Shania_Wolf
If you don't, well, I'll try to sum it up for you !
MOVIES
As mentioned above, I'm rather into Asian cinema (mostly Japanese and Korean to be precise). I'm an huge fan of the Japanese director Sion Sono, and Park Chan-Wook is also one of my favorites.
Then, that's quite hard to say 'cause I'm really into movies. I mean, quite obsessive about it, be prepared. But I would put among my favorites :
Himizu & Why Don't You Play in Hell - Sono Sion
Old boy & Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance - Park Chan-Wook
Paprika - Kon Satoshi
Kotoko - Tsukamoto Shinya
The Congress - Ari Folman
Avalon - Oshii Mamoru
Metropolitan - Whit Stillman
and THE LORD OF THE RINGS, because, The Lord of the Rings, that's all...
SERIES
Oh, and while we're here, let's talk about series. Among Western ones, I love Firefly and Game of Thrones.
I also used to watch a lot of animes, mostly seinen and some shônen. My favorites are Shinsekai Yori, Tasogare Otome x Amnesia and Mushishi.
MUSIC
Okay, here I have to confess I've never really been into it, I'm more of a casual listener, but I decided to change that and to earn some musical knowledge !
So far I have no special interests, I kinda like everything, from metal to dubstep including vocaloid... Yeah, that's wide. But I have a special spot in my heart for the bands Within Temptation and Shaka Ponk (the later is French, it's normal if you've never heard of it - in any case these two bands have NOTHING in common...)
BOOKS
Well, still a lot of Japanese stuff (I speak about novels, manga isn't all there is :D), I particularly love the authors Kenzaburo Oe, Jun'ichiro Tanizaki and Yukio Mishima.
Out of Japanese stuff, I really like theater plays, and poesy - yes, right, it's easy to read, but we had a lot of fantastic poets and dramatists in France ! I particularly like the Romantism in poesy and the Classicism in theater. And for some reason, I have a special affection for Platonov, by Tchekov.
More globaly, I like authors who have a poetic or funny writing (Luis Sepulveda, Romain Gary, Jean-Paul Sartre...)
I also like to read about philosophy : Machiavel (oh, did I mention I find the Lannisters more interesting ? please don't kill me), Freud (yes I know he lied about a lot of stuff, but anyway...), Bergson (well, it's quite far now, I have to read more about him), Régis Debray (well, this guy is French AND alive, so you've probably never heard of him).
And, well, I kept from my childhood a weakness for fantasy.
VIDEO GAMES
What ? That's a part of culture too !
I used to play League of Legends a couple of years ago, try to get back. I like RPGs (The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher, etc...), and I've been playing Rift for two years. I really like the Civilization games.
Then I mostly play indie games (my boyfriend is an indie game developer, that kinda helps...)
By the way, I recently fell in love with The Wolf Among Us.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helicopter over the Grand Canyon and jeep in Monument Valley are two things I really enjoyed. Staying stuck one week in Vegas because of a volcano and a cancelled flight wasn't bad either !
And I've lived in Norway to see the polar night too ! Two entire months without sun - at least that's no reflection on my computer screen !
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Wales
Countries I’ve Lived In
