Overview
About Me
I come from a small mountain village in southern China, where I grew up in a traditional family and became the first person in my family to attend university. While studying in Beijing, I applied for and saved up for a student exchange program in Australia. Now that my academic term has ended, I'm traveling around Australia.
I'm fascinated by cultural differences and love connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, which is why I want to try Couchsurfing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This is my first time trying Couchsurfing. Previously, I've always stayed in hostels or hotels, but I felt too disconnected from local life and missed having meaningful cultural exchanges. I'm genuinely passionate about cultural exchange and love making new friends.
Interests
I'm passionate about photography and work as a part-time portrait photographer. I always carry my camera with me and would be happy to take some beautiful photos for you.
I love outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, and I have good physical endurance.
I love cooking and whenever I visit a new place, I explore local cuisines and learn how to prepare traditional dishes. I'd be happy to cook Chinese food for you (though be warned - my specialties tend to be spicy dishes, so I hope you enjoy spicy food!)."

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy both horror movies and romantic films 🤔. When it comes to music, I'm quite open-minded - I love listening to songs in different languages and would be happy to share some of my favorite songs from various cultures with you.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've worked as a volunteer teacher in Xinjiang, Tibet, and Chongqing, China.
I've also maintained a daily diary since elementary school - in 2024 alone, I've written over 100,000 Chinese characters in my journal.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love connecting with people and have gathered many travel stories to share. Having studied psychology, I'm always eager to share insights from this field with those interested. As a member of one of China's ethnic minorities (China has 56 different ethnic groups, each with their own distinct cultural traditions), I'd be delighted to share about these diverse cultures. For instance, did you know that Tibetans don't have family names, Uyghur people use their father's first name as their surname, and the Hmong people have mysterious traditional practices?
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook Chinese, Malaysian, and Thai cuisine for you.
I always bring small gifts from my travels for my hosts.
I have good hygiene habits and a regular sleep schedule, and I'll do my best to be a considerate guest who minimizes any inconvenience to my hosts.
