CURRENT MISSION
Meet foreigners visiting my city !
ABOUT ME
Hello !
I was born in Florence, Italy, and I lived on and off between France, Africa, Germany, Italy and Ireland. These days I live in Nantes, with my boyfriend and our little girl who was born in 2018.
I spent a long time at uni, and right now my major is British history, but I love to learn about anything really. I'm one of those people who would study forever if they could !
I'm fluent in French, English, Italian and I speak good German. I am currently in between studies and work, giving English lessons here and there and studying for a national exam to become an English teacher for the state. My dream is to become a university teacher, but that'll take some more time.
My hobbies are hiking, writing, reading, travelling, learning about animals, yoga, martial arts, photography, dancing, dining out, creating stuff with my hands, movies and series, learning new languages. I love to eat in restaurants. I've been a teetotaler since July 2017 and I'm 100% happy of this new life style.
I'm looking to meet honest, genuine people from all around the world. I love conversation on any topics, mostly discussing each other's countries, cultures, societies and politics...
I consider myself a spiritualist since I believe in the energy of the Earth and of nature, as well as in the human spirit, but really I'm interested in all religions and philosophies as long as everyone keeps an open mind.
What I love doing most is hiking in the countryside or seaside. For me walking is one of the best ways to move through life !
I try to lead a healthy lifestyle, to eat well and exercise, and to be respectful of the earth. I'm very fond of all animals, and think that each living being, however little, has a deserving and rightful place on this planet. I don't like it when people crush insects and whatnot just "because". Inexplicably apes and monkeys creep me out, though. Lol.
I may be super quiet and daydreaming some times, and very talkative other times.
I love board games like Taboo, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Dixit... not into card games though, sorry !
Also love cooking, good food and fun nights out !
PHILOSOPHY
Be open, be positive, spread good vibes and energy around.

Interests

I don't like: violence, drugs, crowdy and dark places, hipsters, superficial conversation, most stuff on TV, planes and flying, sloppiness, fast food, animal cruelty, horror movies, rough cloth and towels, and least but not last, FREE JAZZ.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love any kind of music (except hardcore and experimental jazz), any kind of movies (except horror, yuk), any kinds of books, with a preference for 19th century classics and heroic fantasy. I'm also discovering modern Japanese literature and am absolutely in love with it. Ishiguro rulz !
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rafting in Peru, flying over the Nazca geoglyphs, walking in the rain forest of Cameroon, standing still ten feet from a huge elefant in North-Benin, bathing in a little oasis in the rocky desert of Oman with tiny fish eating my toes, looking at the sun rising over Uluru, Australia, climbing Torc Mountain in Ireland, driving over clouds in the angevin country...
Living in Paris was pretty awesome too.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an expert in greek mythology, feel free to ask any question on that ! (Haha !)
Know my way around African and Arab studies ; am passionate about history and geopolitics, can talk for hours. Love to learn new perspectives.
I study British and American Studies, particularly fond of the British Victorian Age, and topics such as immigration, multiculturalism, conflict zones...
I'm basically passionate about anything academic, as long as it's not mathematics, economics, physics or things with numbers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My annoying questions, my cooking skills (I make a hardcore tiramisu), my tidyness (am extremely fond of all types of tidyness).
I play a teensy little bit of piano and guitar and I would love to learn to play the drums.
Would love to learn Arabic, Russian and Japanese.
All jokes aside, I think I'm a likeable, funny person who can be shy at first but fun and outgoing once we get to know each other !
