About Me
I find it surprisingly hard to write anything about myself, for almost everything about me seems to be shifting and spinning nowadays, my home, my days, my hobbies, my preferences and wishes.
But here are some things (trivial ones, true) what seems quite fixed for now, so I dare to write them down:
- I like languages (some more than others), and will always be ready to talk about sociolinguistics and second language acquisition. :D (well, and Finnish grammatical cases, but that's just me being strange)
- I love coffee. It is not even the taste, but the ritual around it that makes it special. It reminds me of friendship: of hours spent talking over a single cup of coffee while the world around us completely rearranges itself... and suddenly it is dark outside; of chilly mornings in a campsite when only the sound of brewing coffee is capable of getting everyone moving (that, or wild horses tramping around the campsite); of late night studying in the crowded kitchen when coffee seems to be the only thing that makes sense anymore.
(and.... well, Finnish coffee reminds me of Finland, to be honest)
- No matter how much I change, I will always be the one doing some crafting or crocheting or painting or decoration in the corner, especially if the previous day ended without me finishing my newest project.
- I like trees
- I really like trees
- I would like to learn Swedish, but I'm still struggling with anything more than ordering coffee.
