About Me
I smile a lot. Sometimes even too much.
I moved back to Hungary in 2013 after spending one year in England and one year in Sweden. I'm the curious type. I love to discover new places and look beyond the surface. I believe in the idea that one's destination is not only a place but a new way of seeing the world. I'm also an amateur photographer seeking just the same: seeing (sometimes ordinary) things in a different way. I'm preparing for my seventh exhibition so you can easily end up as a model. :)
PHILOSOPHY
"It was one of those days when it's a minute away from snowing and there's this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it. And this bag was, like, dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. And that's the day I realized there was this entire life behind things, and... this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... and I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The first time I heard about CouchSurfing was at a CouchSurfing beach party in France, 2010. Later I was an active part of the local CS community in Leeds, England and Malmo, Sweden.
I've camped together with CSers from all around the globe for 1 week at a summer music festival in Hungary each year since 2012. Awesome experience! See you all next year!
So far I've surfed 10 times and hosted once (hosted many CS friends though).
Interests
I love music, summer music festivals, photography, great movies, dancing barefoot, art, hitchhiking small talks, Italian and Mexican food, French cheese, Scottish haggis, people watching, singing in the rain, coasts, concerts, thinking, sound of the piano, sound of silence, staring at the sea, maps, more maps, discovering cultures different from mine, covering my ceiling with photos, taking the "road not taken", searching for full rainbows, music, music, music, maps and music.
I'm interested in cultural anthropology, photography, DIY culture, international relations/politics, psychology and accents in English especially the Scottish, Irish and Northern Irish. Well...I adore the gummi bears too...
Music, Movies, and Books
Depends on my mood, I generally listen to punk, punk cabaret, dream pop, riot grrrl and experimental music. I like bands from the Dresden Dolls to CocoRosie, from Gogol Bordello to The Gits, from These New Puritans to Blur, from Sleater-Kinney to The Slits, Erland and the Carnival, Pixies and so on...however, I only listen to Jack Johnson these days. :D
Movies e.g. The Fall, American Beauty, Dogville, Big Fish, Mulholland Drive, Being John Malkovich, Synecdoche New York, Veronika Decides to Die, Velvet Goldmine, Fish Tank, Edward Scissorhands, Magnolia, Babel. In general everything by David Lynch, Lars von Trier, Gus Van Sant, Tim Burton or Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. Black Mirror's great! And Girls.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Every minute of life is amazing.
I lived in 5 countries and 7 cities in the last 2.5 years and moved flats 11 times in the last 4 years.
Anytime I'm near the sea. "The loneliness you get by the sea is personal and alive. It doesn't subdue you and make you feel abject. It's stimulating loneliness."
