About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't worry, just be happy every day, have as much fun, meet as many new people, see as many new places and do as many new things as I can.

ABOUT ME

Well, the people that know me generally describe me as sweet, quiet but also sometimes a little crazy. They probably know what they're talking about... I, of course, absolutely deny being at all crazy. The mere thought is ridiculous!! No, I am a very normal, well-behaved girl.

PHILOSOPHY

Everybody should take a chance when they see it. Life's just to short to do something you don't really want to do. Believe in yourself, forget your fears, and just DO IT!! (which is, of course, easier said than done, but still...)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to meet any couchsurfer who's staying in my country right now and show them around or do something fun. I'm also looking forward to participating in couchsurfingevents.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had a couchsurfing experience, unless you count my stay with my friend in Egypt, where I actually did sleep on the couch. But as I allready knew her and her boyfriend, it wasn't a real couchsurfing experience. I'm new at this, but I've heard a lot of positive stories, that made me excited for the project.
In Rome I met a lot of couchsurfingpeople and they were all really really nice.

Interests

It would be better to list the things I am not interested in, because I am interested in a lot of things. But what unites most of these interests is that they arouse my imagination because there is something mysterious and powerful about them, like storms, earthquakes, vulcanic eruptions or the workings of the universe.
Humans interest me as well: the way we work, the history of the world. Why do people do the things they do? This is why I like to study history and philosophy and it is also why I like fantasy so much, they combine the powerful and mysterious with more human interests.
Finally, and completely different, my interest in horses. I like riding (dressage) and I hope that one day I will have my own horse (the little-girlsdream that persisted).

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have favorites, because each movie, song or book is different. You can't really compare them. But some of my alltime favorite movies are: LOTR (including books), Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Pirates ot Caribbean, Harry Potter (again: books as well), Shrek, the Disneyclassics and many more. Mostly commercial 'happy' stuff, I admit, but I feel reality is dramatic enough as it is. If I want to see tragedy and drama, I'll turn on CNN. In books and movies I like to see a positive note.
Music: I like rock and rockmetal best, but popmusic and even classical (especially opera) I enjoy as well. I don't like hardcore or trance, they generally give me a headache.
My favorite authors include at the moment: Robin Hobb, Tad Williams (Otherland!), Jean M. Auel, J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter of course), Tolkien, Diana Gabaldon, Stephen King (The stand!) and Robert Jordan (wheel of time-series).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing experience I had was the one day in my life I experienced what it would be like to REALLY believe in myself for one hundred percent. That day was perfect, everything went right. I even scored a goal in gymnastics even though I suck at sports. Since then I have been striving to get that feeling back, and slowly am succeeding. Believe in yourself and you can do anything, is the most important lesson I learned that amazing day.

Teach, Learn, Share

My five rules in life:
1. Take care of your body, because you have only one and, speaking for myself, I'm planning to use it for a very long time.
2. Do whatever you want and don't care what other people think/say/do.
3. Take every opportunity to learn/see/do new things that life presents you.
4. Look in the mirror and smile at yourself every morning!
5. Be determined to be happy, every day!
