About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live The Dream (LTD)

ABOUT ME

I was lucky enough to be born into a loving family and beautiful country. My life experiences have taught me that everyone is unique and basically everyone wants the same things - to experience love (in all its forms), safety and peacefulness. Life has also taught me that I am blessed and I try so hard to remember to always be grateful and mindful of that. This is why I travel.

I don't travel to 'tick a country off a list' but to get to know the people - the language and the food too. Travel, for me, is not about the destination but the journey.

We are so much more than the things we have on the outside (the ego). Imagine what humans could be if we all lived in harmony and in accordance with the environment.

----
In December last year, we left our homes in Far North Queensland, Australia where we taught History, Geography and English at the local High School (Tully State High School). We spent eight months backpacking and volunteering through Southern Europe, Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Egypt. We came back to Australia for six weeks to hang out with our beloveds and to top up the bank accounts, before the big move to Canada. It has been our dream for many years to live in the snow, and we are stoked that it is finally coming to fruition.

My love also has cs, Nathan Unwin. https://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=99IKQ8K&from_search&search_ranking_names=1

I studied Geography and Spanish at University; Nathan Peace and Conflict Studies and Spanish. We graduated in Chile in 2013, doing our last year of study abroad in Valparaíso. Here we learnt a lot about ourselves and life - learning another language opened our minds and thoughts. We have lived overseas since turning 18, more time than we have in Australia.

One day we want to live off the land, producing our own food. The best way to break the system is to create a new one. Controlling the food that we eat is and where we get our energy from, is a huge part of reducing the harm we do to the Earth.

We are peaceful people. We prefer small towns (or no towns) to big cities. We live simply; without judgements we can go forth as a human race.

We travel and participate with workaway and helpx... amazing websites!! have had AMAZING experiences in Bolivia, Romania, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Palestine and Brasil working in farms and hostels in exchange for food and board!!! I would recommend it to anyone. You dont need a lot of money to travel if you have time.

PHILOSOPHY

"We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves." Bill Hicks

That it isn't necessarily the place, but the people, that make it amazing and monumental.

Life is only ever what you make of it, and I plan to live it in the most happiest, uncensored and fullest mind frame as possible. So spread love and peace in all your thoughts and actions: stopping the war in our hearts and mind, is the first step to stopping the war outside.

Music, Movies, and Books

music: jefferson airplane, the beatles, the doors, xavier rudd, angus and julia stone, bliss n eso, bob marley, janis joplin, jimi hendrix, pink floyd, cat stevens, Queen, florence and the machine, Joni Mitchel, jazz, Musical theater... it all depends on what mood, the place and the feeling in the end, though generally chilled, although if out in some dark, pumping place...I definitely enjoy good solid loud base which pumps all the way through the body to the soul.
books: enjoy all books, especially ones with happy endings
movies: ones which make you think, ones which show you a new perspective. I love musicals too, Phantom of the opera and Rent if pressed to choose.

I love documentaries am particularly taken with those by Carl Sagon and Sir David Attenborough.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Road trip along the great ocean road, Australia -seeing my country for how beautiful it really is.amazing.

Moving to Chile and learning a whole new language, culture and way of life.

Fallen in love

Hitch hiked although chile, argentina, brasil, bolivia and ecuador. met AMAZING people, born witness to the beauty of humantiy and her generousity (also to her cruelty and judgement). Seen the moon rise over the atacama desert in a truck rocking out to riders on the storm, the doors, talking wonders with Nathan and the truck driver. I though to myself, now this is why I travel.

Walked from vevey to geneva... only 100kms but it was amazing to camp along the way and seeing the changing geography. we met amazing people too.
