About Me
CURRENT MISSION
☽ Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight.
ABOUT ME
I love the most important and least important of things. I love anything that is timeless and perfect and sublime and I love the mundane details that are overshadowed and ugly and rejected.
I take pictures, read, write, draw, and make music, even if I do so very mediocre-ly. If I see something that inspires me, I undergo severe daydreams and have no way of coping with them except by writing about them. I think of myself as an introvert and a night owl, drawing crescent moons on whatever I can and logging nonsensical night-dreams if they make enough sense to be written about.
But even though I am an introvert, I think the best thing you can do with someone is have a conversation, and I value the good company of others very deeply. I like making food or eating with people (I get equally excited about junk food as I do about healthy foods), and looking at what other people make or do. I like listening to people talk about things they love.
I like to take my time when I travel to places. I enjoy seeing the sights, but I also like doing things that I might also be doing back at home in the locations I travel to: writing in parks, cooking nice meals, reading, simply walking.
I'm always up in the night, even when I don't mean to, even if for no reason. Even when I greatly appreciate daylight and sunlight and all it's shadows and color temperatures.
PHILOSOPHY
Uncertainty,
Sympathy as presented by George Eliot,
and this, from Nabokov's Pnin:
"Doffing his spectacles, he rubbed with the knuckles of the hand that held them his naked and tired eyes and, still in thought, fixed his mild gaze on the window above, where, gradually, through his dissolving meditation, there appeared the violet-blue air of dusk, silver-tooled by the reflection of the fluorescent lights of the ceiling, and, among spidery black twigs, a mirrored row of bright book spines."
Interests
Semicolons, sleepy hahas, yellowing pages, tea, eating, low f-stop, xylem & phloem, journals, microscopes, marble statues, shitty internet art, black and white, Victorianism (and surrounding eras), creepy, pale, moon, impressionism, geometric shapes, crystals, fractals, apple picking, large celestial objects and large infinities, landscapes, castles and museums, mozzarella sticks, basements, attics.

Music, Movies, and Books
This question is always kind of silly, but I guess everyone appreciates an answer anyway! I just see / hear / read something, and if I like it, I just do. I feel as if I haven't consumed enough of the world to ever make such a list, but here is a slice of what I've come to appreciate:
Books: One Hundred Years of Solitude, Woolf, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Toni Morrison, George Eliot, Alice in Wonderland, Nabokov, Austen, Dickens, Wilde, Brontes, Tolstoy. I like a critical text if I can understand it. I'm sorry I haven't read much that is recent. I also like a lot of the writing of some of my friends and companions.
Music: Really hard to say. Bits of garage, punk, electronic, collage, freak folk, noise, folk, new wave, classical, opera, bossa nova, piano impressionisms, 90s hits, even something drone-y or ambient. Vashti Bunyan, Grass Widow, Business Cats, New Order, Grizzly Bear, Beyonce, Castle Storm, Oneohtrix Point Never, Owen Palette, Joanna Newsom, piano and dulcimer pieces by Aphex Twin, The Flower Duet by Lakme, Debussy, Chopin, Akira soundtrack, The Books, Stan Getz.
Screen: (I'm very new to T.V., growing up we only had LOTR and the Mummy 2 in our DVD collection, hah, but I will say Twin Peaks, Sailor Moon, Donnie Darko, Satoshi Kon, Ghibli, Drive, Parks and Recreation, Adventure Time, Pride and Prejudice (Joe Wright), The Picnic at Hanging Rock, Blade Runner, Alien, Wes Anderson, Marie Antoinette, a few Tarantino films.) I like short productions too, wherever I can find them.
