Hey, I'm Lily! I'm a born and raised New Yorker. I really haven't seen much outside of the U.S, so I am excited to travel the world and see as much as I can. I'm definitely a "try everything once" kind of girl, I love meeting new people, trying all kinds of food, and experiencing all the things the world has to offer. I'm usually a night owl, I like parties and clubs, but am just as happy to settle in with some food and a good book or movie. I can't wait to explore the world, and hopefully I can start on your couch! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because traveling is expensive! I'm also a solo traveler so I feel the best way to meet people and really immerse myself into the culture is by staying with locals. I also think it's a good way to avoid all the touristy sights and find what really makes a city tick. I want to find all the hidden gems I can and experience the parts of a place that most first time travelers don't get to. I'm really social so staying with someone rather than at a hotel is also a good way for me to learn the social etiquette and make real friends that I can keep in touch with later on.

My top 5 favorite movies are Pineapple Express, Fight club, The Shining, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and The Notebook.
If The Secret History by Donna Tartt was the last book left on earth, I'd still be satisfied.
I really like all genres of music, but my go to's are usually oldies, rock, indie pop, and rap.
If I could go to dinner with any artist it would be Tyler the Creator, and David Bowie is my spirit animal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is my work as a production assistant. I'm a budding filmmaker with my own short in the works, and through working with amazing, diverse crews I've learned so much about the industry and myself as an artist. I've seen stuntmen jump off cliffs, spray painted bridges and built massive sets, worked with Emmy award winning directors and Tony nominated sound designers and all of that has definitely shaped me into who I am today.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love creating in any way I can. That means, sketching wherever I go, filming and taking pictures of whatever I can, and usually having my ukulele on hand in case anyone wants to jam! I really like sharing my art and would be so happy to teach my skills to whatever extent I can. I also love learning new things and picking up new hobbies, so I'll be right there if you want to immerse me in whatever it is you like to do.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whenever I travel my top priority is respecting the space that I am in. I grew up with a twin brother, so I understand how distressing a messy living space can be. On the other hand, that also means that I am desensitized to clutter, so if you're not someone who cleans every day, I don't mind. I'm down to go on coffee runs and help out with any chores. I love animals so pets are a perk, if anything. If you're someone who likes to have friends over, I can leave when they come, or if you want me to meet them, I'm cool with that too. Overall, I understand that I am a guest in your home, and I want to make the experience as comfortable as I can for both of us.
