About Me
Hi! I'm Lily, an American student. I love traveling and exploring, and I tend to be on the go quite a bit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think that the best way to learn about a city is from its inhabitants. As much as I love being a tourist in a new city, I like to be an informed tourist! I want to meet people from all over the world and have amazing experiences wherever I end up.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a huge reader-- so much so that I work in a library! Kurt Vonnegut is my favorite author, but The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran is my favorite book. Recently I've read The Year of the Hare by Arto Paasilinna and The Blue Fox by Sjon.
Musicwise, I'm very relaxed. I enjoy folk, indie, jazz, and songs from musicals when listening by myself, but very little music annoys me to listen to in general. I'm a jazz singer, so I connect to that the most!
My favorite movies are Wes Anderson's movies. I think they're beautiful! I like dark comedies and dramas most of all.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know if I'm that spectacular! Some interesting this about me are that I began university at 15, I cohosted a dance in support of public education for 10 years, and I once broke someone's leg with my face (that's a very good story).
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a teacher by trade, and love to share knowledge. I love learning a bit of the local language wherever I go, and being able to share knowledge on a topic of interest for you. My passion is for language and communication, and traveling is the best way to get immersed in both of those things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm quite a good cook! I'm glad to help cook or bake any time.
I'm also known to be a walking encyclopedia, and can share a lot of completely useless (but interesting) information. I love chatting about anything, and learning about new cultures and people, so there's never lack of conversation with me around. I'm a perpetual extrovert, and love to hear and tell stories.
