About Me

I am 22, an undergraduate History student at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. I love to dance, run and play tennis to keep active. I enjoy cooking for my friends, going for brunch and love gin and tonic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am planning to travel around the US and see some of the amazing sights and cities after having studying here for a year. I'm really keen to meet new people and make new global friends along the way.

I want to experience new cities from a local's point of view to find all the independent, unique shops and see the hidden quirks of the places I visit, the spots that you would miss as a normal tourist that make the city what it is. I want to try amazing local cuisine from independent restaurants that typical tourists might not discover and try my hand at activities popular in the area.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to listen to indie-pop music, such as Catfish and Bottlemen, and I love funk and soul music to dance to. Most years I go to music festivals in the summer months to hear new bands and new music.

I read for fun when I'm not studying so I tend to choose light hearted books, most recently I've read Girl on the Train. I've recently started reading the New Yorker to gradually broaden my knowledge on U.S. Politics and society. I am always open to suggestions for this type of reading as I think it's important to be active in increasing ones political understanding of current affairs.

I watch RomCom films the most but I do enjoy an action or sci-fi film from time to time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been studying abroad in America at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for the past year which has been a personal challenge that I feel very proud of. I travelled here alone and knew no one here but now have friends from all over the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to have the opportunity to share my knowledge and culture from the UK. As I love cooking I would really enjoy sharing British food with Hosts and Surfers, you have to try a Truly British Roast dinner. I am keen to learn about new cultures and try new things. I consider myself a doer and therefore I thrive off getting involved, helping out and trying new things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge of the UK and Europe with hosts and certainly have a lot of travel recommendations to offer.
