About Me
CURRENT MISSION
From September 2018 to August 2020 I will be studying an MSc in Marine Biological Resources in Europe. I hope to do some couch surfing in this time as I love this method of connecting with strangers.
ABOUT ME
I am a mid-20's woman from Cape Town, South Africa. I enjoy making connections with people outside of my normal life and friendship groups and find couchsurfing an ideal way to do this. My other methods have included ridesharing, WWOOFing and participating in Afrikaburn.
I have broad interests and at the moment I'm most interested in natural science and neuroplasticity. I enjoy doing yoga and surfing and moving my body. I love to read and cook (and eat) vegetarian food.
I am an easy going, open-minded person that is happy with both silence and a good conversation.
(Some of my)TRAVELLING EXPERIENCE
After finishing high school, in 2011 I explored Europe and the UK for 6 months. I spent a lot of time in Cornwall (UK) and Picardie (France) and visited Spain and Germany. I loved the independence and having my world expanded, meeting many interesting people and finally learning to speak French.
In 2013 I went on exchange to the University of California, Santa Barbara and Couchsurfed for the first time - I was hooked! I love meeting locals and sharing experiences.
Apart from these trips I have also traveled around the south of South Africa and until I was four, sailed the world with my parents.
I'm a chilled person and I'll wash the dishes!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I owned a couch I would most definitely host, but as I don't I can offer friendship!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed for 3 weeks in California with an experienced Couchsurfer friend. It was amazing!

Lately I've been loving Florence and the Machine, Anderson Paak, Fat Freddy's Drop...
Books: top books include Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, The Brain's Way of Healing by Norman Doidge...I mostly enjoy fiction and poetry.
Movies: I haven't watched many movies but am catching up. I loved Across the Universe
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are too many amazing things! A five day hike along South Africa's south coast is coming to mind but I really can't decide.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could attempt to teach you english in exchange for some of your language?
I don't have any qualifications but can teach some basic yoga.
Can teach you about biological science and the wonderful world under the surface of the ocean!
