About Me
CURRENT MISSION
What time is it? ADVENTURE TIME
ABOUT ME
I am born and bred Midwestern girl. I love travel but don't get to do it as often as I would like to and I'm hoping to change that!
I'm a pescatarian so I eat fish occasionally but otherwise it's all veggies :)
I spend much of my free time reading and learning as much as I can about our world. I love nature and connecting to mother Earth. I am very passionate about my job. I truly love helping people feel good. I like to stay fit, I LOVE animals. I have goats and cats and dogs myself. I am quick to laugh at anything and loudly at that, so I love having a good time.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others as you would want to be treated. One love. Equal opportunities for everyone. I just try to be the best person I can be and have a positive impact on others lives.
"Shall we make a new rule of life....always to try to be a little kinder than necessary?" -J.M. Barrie, "The Little White Bird", excerpted from Mr. Tushman's speech in "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to travel meet new people and experience new things! I'm willing to give anyone advice/tips about Northeast Ohio even if I can't host right now!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only couchsurfed once but it was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had AND I met some amazing people and made great connections!! Nothing but good vibes!
Interests
Reading, writing, hiking, being outdoorsy, music, concerts, good conversation, sustainable living, gardening, trying to reduce my carbon footprint, massage therapy, energy therapies, learning new things, origami, making jewelry, designing, organizing, yoga, running, dancing and singing, laughing, I really love cats and animal humor. At the moment I'm obsessed with Game of Thrones, I've read all the books but I'm only in season 3 of the series. I will talk to you at length about this series. I nerd out like crazy sometimes.

Music is pretty diverse: my favorite band is Modest Mouse. Other favorites include Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, The National, The Black Keys, Jessica Mayfield, The Avett Brothers, Band of Horses, Wesley Bright and the Hi-Lites (they are a local Akron band if you haven't heard or seen them, go!!!!), Cursive, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Feist, Santigold, Cat Power, The Mountain Goats, The Low Anthem, Iron & Wine, David Bazan, Tv on the Radio, Frank Turner, The Clash, Talking Heads, i could go on and on forever. Love different stuff if you have recommendations by all mean let me know!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The past 2 summers I have volunteered time with a company called iCanShine through a sponsorship of The Austism Society of Ohio-Greater Akron. iCanShine provides opportunities for kids with disabilities to learn to do different sports and activities. I helped with the Bike Program which teaches kids in 80 minute sessions for 5 days how to ride a bike. It uses specific technology to allow the riders to adapt to balancing on a bike in their own time. To see these kids go from being nervous, shy and hesitant to elated, outgoing and independent riders is nothing sort of amazing!! Helping those kids has been a highlight of my summers! If you like volunteering or helping those that are differently-abled check out their website and see if there is a program near you this summer :) http://icanshine.org/
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a big sister to a brother with down syndrome and autism. I wouldn't change him for the world. He has taught me patience, grace, responsibility and a willingness to look past people's "disabilities." He plays such a big part in my life.
The energy you put forth into the world is what you will get in return.
You have a choice every single day of how your going to feel towards the world or how you're going to react. Make it a positive experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I really love cooking and reading and music and stupid videos with cats or people falling down. I'm also getting back into yoga so I can chat/flow/watch any of these things!! But seriously I love cooking and I will cook for you
