ABOUT ME

I'm Lily! I'm from the island province of Canada, Prince Edward Island. It's a small and lovely place, a place that I am happy to go back to in order to recollect myself and my thoughts after living the faster paced life in Montreal. I study there, in Montreal, and am currently on a year long exchange in Vienna. I'm easy to please, I love adventures and excitement but am also someone that needs to balance the crazy with some downtime! So whether it be watching movies on a couch or hiking on a mountain or dancing to amazing music in a club, I love them all.
I can be reserved but I really like meeting new people and getting to know them!

PHILOSOPHY

I try to work hard because it makes me feel good to know I tried as hard as I could. I try to see as much as possible because I don't want to miss anything! I try to have as much fun with myself as well as with other people, because no matter what I'm always going to be stuck with me, right? :P

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed in Munich, Athens, Brasov and Quebec City. My old roommate and I hosted a steady stream of couchsurfers in the summer of 2011 and had a great time doing it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had an INCREDIBLE first time couchsurfing experience in late september; myself and a couple friends planned to go to Munich for the Oktoberfest and didn't start to figure out accomadation until all the hostels were booked solid, desperately attacked this website and were accepted by a couple who completely took us in. We stayed for 6 nights and became good friends! I am a very strong believer in this website and the friendships one can build through it.

Musica, film e libri

I'm really into the local music of wherever I go, not so much metal/hardcore stuff but anything else! I like electro/indie/folk/rock etc.
Movies I dunno, I saw a sweet french movie this year called Laurence Anyways about a man who decides he wants to be a woman and his girlfriend tries to stay with him throughout the process...it was really beautiful and artsy and I cried a lot.
Books: so many, I'm really into 18th 19th century lit, also Russian lit, also sci fi/fantasy and basically anything that's well written and takes me to another world.

I get awestruck often by little things....life is beautiful:
Going for runs in the Spanish countryside.
Doggy paddling across the Danube.
Climbing the mountain with the Brasov sign.
Wandering into some Roman ruins, only to discover a cat sanctuary in the middle of it.
Finding an underground lake in Bermuda.
