ABOUT ME

I like to crochet. I recently taught myself to read German crochet patterns. That was cool. I've only been crocheting for about 4 years so the most complicated thing I can make at this point is a hat. But I am getting better.
Two summers ago a 4-year-old taught me how to ride a bicycle.
I like to take pictures but I don't do it often.
I like to travel but I don't do it as often as I used to.
I like teaching online but I also miss teaching in a classroom.
I have three tattoos.
I went to Ringo Starr's birthday party last year.

PHILOSOPHY

The best way to do it is to focus on what you are doing at the moment. Right now I am eating some green grapes and it is an excellent experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have only surfed couches belonging to people I already knew. It is always more fun for me to be with people than alone.

Music, Movies, and Books

I recently got a book of poems written by Hildegard which I like a lot. Other books: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my favorites. Borges' Library at Babel. Ovid's Metamorphoses. Anything by John Steinbeck or Willa Cather.
I generally like pop music. Recently I've enjoyed Robyn a lot.
I don't have very discriminating taste in movies or tv. The Usual Suspects is one of my all-time favorite movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen: Sunsets in Equador, sunrises over New York City. The stars and fireflies on a moonless Missouri night. The inside of Augustus' house in Rome. The inside of the House of the Vetii in Pompei.
Done: Partied with rock stars. Survived growing up in New Jersey. Moved to Missouri sight unseen. Laughed out loud reading Latin poetry.
