HI! I grew up on a farm outside of Asheville, so the mountains are home and southern accents warm my heart. I just finished an MFA in Poetry, but some days I marvel at how inadequate words are and how marvelous SOUNDS are! I love to dance and I love to learn. I love talking about almost anything and I love SILENCE. I don't love violent or scary or gory movies or heavy heavy music, still, I appreciate that they can be arts from afar.
I try to be open to ways of thinking and feeling and being. I try to meditate a lot and I try to connect with people on whatever level feels comfortable for them and for me. Sometimes I think about how magical it is that there is a concentration gradient in the medulla of the kidney!- yours and mine!! Sometimes I listen to Janelle Monae and think about how much of a goddess she is, and sometimes I memorize Lorca in Spanish. Peace and love!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I think it's an amazing way to circumvent the rules of our capitalist society and return to the real truth that we are all people and that most of us have more in common than not, and that we have a lot to offer one another whether that be a place to sleep or a recommendation for a place to eat. I'm really happy to participate in a group which allows affordable travel and opens up so many opportunities for people who aren't in the top 1%.
