About Me

Hi! I am very excited to be part of Couchsurfers! I love opening up my home to people from all walks of life and I hope you do too. If you'd like I can share some of my stories about my travels around the world and through 43 States and maybe some travel tips. If you are tired and don't want to talk I will respect that too. I have been a volunteer host for international exchange students for the past 12 years. Every year I have hosted one Asian and one European teen every summer, teaching them English and showing them around Florida. I am currently in the Midwest and I am on a limited budget and would not be able to continue my love of travel without this service...... Which I will reciprocate when you visit me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I have always loved traveling and meeting new people and learning about their cultures and languages, but now if it wasn't for Couchsurfing I would not be able to travel again because I am on a fixed income. I had lost hope about ever being able to travel again until my daughter told me about Couchsurfing. I hope you can accommodate me. I are clean and organized, quiet yet very friendly, conservative yet open-minded to your lifestyle, a believer yet wanting to learn about your beliefs.

Interests

I have a variety of interest in many fields in topics.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of music except probably not too much heavy metal. I don't watch movies or read very much but when I do, I love many types of movies but not very violent or gory ones. I like reading books about facts not fiction and magazines.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think I've done many amazing things in my life but I would say getting stranded overnight at the Island of Mont San Michele Castle in France was probably one of the most adventurous times I've ever had. I've also been on the Alps and those are some amazing views with shades of blue I have never seen again in my life, but the place that I find has the most amazing natural beauty is the state of Utah! Vancouver is amazing because it is so diverse with so many public outdoor spaces.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have developed a system for teaching anyone 80% of any latin-based language or English in one week or less. I learned this in linguistics class in college and it has helped me learn many romance languages. I would love to share the secrets with you. If you would like to learn please have an English/whatever language you like to learn dictionary with you and three highlighter pens and a pencil. I look forward to meeting you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could share my stories about traveling and personal endeavors with my host, I can also tell them about my experiences as a teacher and exchange student host and share my faith and my life experiences.
I will also make sure everything is as clean and organized as I found it or even better!
