About Me

I am a licensed tour guide who lives in Amman and have a place in Wadi Musa/Petra due to my job. I enjoy traveling and meeting like-minded people. I have lived in China four 4 years and in the UK for 1.5 years. I am also a writer, currently unpublished but working on a novel about Petra. This is why I enjoy spending time in Wadi Musa to explore more about the place I am writing about and understand the local life in depth. I also have a podcast about Jordan to introduce this beautiful countries to people, as I have noticed how media sends a lot of misinformation about the country I grew up and the people I have lived with and loved. After traveling a while, I have now returned to my country and settled in. Currently enjoying being a tour guide and this is how I use my job to meet people from other parts of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to this platform and was recently introduced to it by a German friend of mine. At first, I thought it was a bit too different to the style I lead, but then I thought it'll be great to host some people in my small studio in Wadi Musa and enjoy some conversations and stories. I also like this lifestyle and would love to use it when I travel abroad, but since I am here now, I would love to provide the service for other people.

Music, Movies, and Books

That's a tough question, but since I am a writer I would love to start with books. My favourite book of all time is "Shantaram" By Gregory David Roberts. I love rereading this beautiful novel every year. I enjoy literature so much and feel I can learn so much from a good book. I also love books about life, one of which I recently finished is "All About Love" by Bell Hooks. I used to watch a lot of movies and that's how I learned my English when I was in high school, but now I only go for ones with good reviews or meaningful plots. I recently really like watching The Dig, probably because it is so much related to my job ^^
Music, that's a very tough one to answer because I listen to different genres, and different languages. I enjoy Coldplay, Imagine dragons, and old music form the seventies and sixties. I love some Arabic bands like: Jama'et Khair, Jadal, Harget Kart. I also adore Spanish music, but I know just a few singers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently, it was diving in Aqaba for the first time. I don't even swim and have never been in the sea before (only when I was a child and I can barely remember it). It was the most amazing experience as I had explored a whole new world and encouraged to leave my comfort zone. I am now encouraged to even get an open water licence which I have never thought of getting.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my experience as a local tour guide in Jordan with people visiting here. I can also share my knowledge in culture, history, and local habits as I was born and grew up in Jordan. I am good at languages, so more than happy to share and teach the languages I speak and would defiantly love to improve the languages I am trying to learn ( I am open to learning a lot, because I adore languages)
I also do basic: origami, photography, building websites, hennah art. So would love to share this basic knowledge with people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a bed in my studio in Petra for female visitors only, or meeting up with females and males in Amman or Petra, or other parts of Jordan depending on my time. I can also share my experience as a local tour guide, so lots of advice on history, and how to navigate in Jordan, etc.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, Russian Federation, Scotland, Spain, Syrian Arab Republic, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, Jordan, United Kingdom
