Hi I’m Lina, I’m a French student and I come from the North of France, close to Belgium.

I study engineering in renewable energies which made me really interested in climate change and building a more sustainable future.
I have studied 2 years in Paris, 2 years in Grenoble (in the French Alpes) and my final semester will be an Erasmus in Stockholm, Sweden which I’m super excited about !

I am currently on a gap year : I did a 6 month internship in Martinique (a French Island in the carribean sea) and I am now travelling in South America for 4 months : Colombia, Bolivia, Peru and the north of Chile.

This is a trip I have been dreaming to do since high school because I was in a special Spanish section called Bachibac. I studied history and geography in Spanish, and we learned the French history but also the Spanish and Latin America one which seemed so interesting to me. Ever since then I have wanted to travel to Central and South America :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think we can’t discover a country without getting to know the people who live in it. I love to hear stories from the day to day life of people who live in a country really different than mine, but also to have their point of view of the political/social situation of the country.

This kind of selfless exchange gives me faith in humanity and makes me want to welcome people too when I have my own home in France :)
