Overview
About Me
I am Lithuanian, though for the past few years I lived in Italy, Spain and UK. One day me and my partner Vilius (I am sorry, but I do not know how to add a profile link, but you can find him in my references) decided that we had enough of the routine and packed our bags for the world trip. Our first destination - South East Asia. so, we have landed in Singapore on November, 2019 and have been travelling since. We already enjoyed greenery of Singapore, tasted very delicious food in Malaysia, relaxed in beaches of South Thailand and explored amazing Myanmar.
We both enjoy meeting new people and getting to know each place we travel to from the inside (culture, cuisine, language, locals etc.). Even though Vilius is a bit more shy than me, I believe that his English language skills are better, so he is usually the one who talks more...
I consider myself as an amateur journalist and photographer. I do have a degree in journalism studies, though it was a while when I last wrote an article, which was published. Even though, me and Vilius just released our new travelling blog - pinkyshike.com, where we will post our experiences in each city and place we visit (it is still going very slow, because we cannot manage to find enough time for it).
My character usually depends on my mood, though I always try to be kind, considerate and friendly (#hufflepuffpride all the way!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing, because...
1. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them
2. I am happier to stay in someone's place, instead of a hotel, because I would love to know the country's culture from the inside (the hostel or hotel, as good as it might be, would never offer that kind of knowledge)
3. I love to travel!
4. Me and Vilius agreed it would be amazing to have friends all over the world!
Interests
As far as I remember myself, I always loved writing and reading. My studies got me interested in media related stuff and politics, too, though nowadays I am a bit less up to date with that (travelling gets in the way sometimes). Also, I am an amateur photographer, who loves to catch moments in the streets and take portraits (feel free to ask me for a photoshoot!)
Of course, I am a huge Harry Potter fan and read all the books at least five times in both languages - Lithuanian and English.
I also would love to learn more about different religions. Even though I was raised as a Christian, I would like to l know more about Islam (I already learnt about Koran a bit during my studies), Buddhism (I always felt that it is the only religion, which feels more like a philosophy...), Hinduism (I think I know the least about that one), etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
The music I listen varies depending on my moods - rock, metal, pop, rap, etc. Though nowadays I believe that my favourite band is the band my best friend plays - Derange.
I have read many books as a teen and even more later, but for now my favourite writer is Nicolas Sparks. It is not necessarily because I like his books, but more because I love the style he writes in - all of his books just flow and I usually read few hundred pages book in just a few days.
My top movie list - The Fight Club, Cloud Atlas, Interstellar, Predestination... Yes, I love deep movies, though I also enjoy fantasy movies (Marvel movies, LOTR, etc.), comedy series (HIMYM, Friends, etc.) and even short movies or interesting commercials (I do love all of the Christmas advertisement videos, my favourite is from Sainsbury's 2015).
...and of course all HARRY POTTER things related (Hufflepuff through and through here!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have done is Tandem Bungee Jump with my partner in Italy. It was my idea, I got so scared that I wanted to abort this mission, but I did it and it was incredible. I still have a video of me talking in Lithuanian just after the jump and you can see my hand shaking...
Teach, Learn, Share
I am not really sure I would be able to teach you something, because I do not believe I am proficient enough in anything (my partner probably would say I am just being humble)... Though, I know a bit about life in Lithuania, Italy, UK and Spain... Also, I could suggest you some neat places to visit in Italy (I am a bit passionate about that country after I lived there for a year!)
As I already mentioned, I would love to learn more about various religions, your country, all of the traditions and so on! Also, I always wanted to learn to swim properly (I do know how to swim, where I know I can reach the ground, but when I cannot I start to panic and forget how to even use my legs... embarrassing...). All in all, I am always eager to learn anything new and exciting!
Sharing... I would love to share stories with you about our travels, traditions, knowledge about various things etc.
Also, I would be more than happy to share the food with you. I am eager to try anything new, though sometimes I am a bit afraid that it would taste too strange for me, so sharing my food with you and my partner while trying as many traditional dishes as we can, would be a dream come true... I hope it doesn't sound strange...
What I Can Share with Hosts
For our host I could offer a smile from ear to ear, a friendly conversation and maybe some souvenir from Lithuania!
(I believe that my partner would be able to cook something for all of us, too!)
Also, we have some card games with us and we would be glad to play them with you!
