About Me

I'm originally from Colombia but now I live in Mexico City and I love it. I'm a little shy at first but I get along really well with most people, I'm very opinionated and have strong points of view on stuff, but I'm open-minded and I'll always be open to discuss anything and appreciate every new learning experience. I like to have fun, go out and meet new people, I like partying as well as staying home when the mood strikes, not so good with nature (working on it) or exotic food but I'll always try my best to adapt to something new.

I really enjoy meeting new people, looking for any chance to learn something new...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I finally moved out with 2 good friends, so I'll get a chance to host people and hopefully take advantage of the amazing school breaks to travel around a little and get to know cool people on CS

Interests

I'm a psychology major, working with children, every aspect of it... emotional, learning therapy, teaching, shadow, any and all of it. Maybe I'll pursue a masters in Special Ed, we'll see what happens.
I love fashion and new cultures, therefore I want to travel to different places and enjoy the typical tourist stuff but most of all just enjoy the local experience and get to know the real day to day culture.
I'm trying to be a little more adventurous so any challenge is greatly appreciated, I might have a hard time but I'll definitely try.
I love a good conversation, walking around and getting to know the secret corners of a new city or showing you my favorite part of living in this amazing city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Closer***
Books: Anything and everything by Milan Kundera; Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights got me loving the romantic/dark novels. Psychology, Jane Austen, Fashion reading, etc...
Music: Everything, if it comes in the right moment for the right mood. Not a huge fan of classical music or techno/dance/clubby music, stresses me out a lot. I looooove going to music festivals and falling in love with a new band and getting to feel that power on a first basis.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just walking the streets of New York, I loved every single detail and I want to go back as many times as possible, so full of life... I'm hoping to be able to have this kind of experience everywhere I go, take time to sink in the moment and just enjoy the beauty of it...
Huge challenge for me, not so much for some other people... but I went all the way to the top of the crater of Pacaya volcano in Guatemala, just standing there... seeing the lava bursting out was one of the greatest experiences ever.
Swimming with whale sharks in Baja California was insane... to see those massive majestic creatures feeding just a few meters away from you takes your breath away.
Bioluminiscence in Oaxaca, the fact that you're in the water and it feels like you're in an endless space where the pitch black sky is only interrupted by a full moon and the stars, and then everytime you move there is a whole lot of magic around you in the water lighting up in bright blue neon hues, uffff!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn about different cultures, languages even if it's just to order a drink or a dirty joke... always looking for new suggestions on what to listen, read, watch... Be sure I'll give my own opinions and tell you about the stuff I know, also if you want to learn spanish I'll give you the real deal.
I'd love to learn how to cook a delicious meal, I'm such a picky eater, but I always love some new ideas I might enjoy.
I'll try to teach you how to dance, latin skills ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll be more than happy to hang out with you if you have time, teach you some spanish, I make a pretty good lasagna, and will take you dancing or for a drink anytime and give you a little taste of our culture.
I'm great with kids, if you have any... not so much with pets, I like them and they like me back but I know nothing on how to care for them.
