About Me

I am a retired financial coordinator and my husband is a retired Professor of Mathematics at Texas A&M University. I enjoy travel much more than my husband does so we have an agreement. I can travel whenever and wherever I want.... as long as I don't insist he comes with me . I keep a bag always packed so I am ready to leave when the opportunity arises. We are empty-nesters who have adopted a chihuahua and a cat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My husband and I are new to Couchsurfing. So far I've seen that the people we've hosted are wonderful and fascinating...People we would otherwise never have met in our usual social environment. Since I travel at least once a month, please understand that we will not always be available to host you. Couchsurfing is something I've wanted to try. My wonderful husband has gone along with it. However I promised him that I would not accept guests unless I am going to be in town.

WHAT GUESTS CAN EXPECT:
Be advised that if you have pet allergies, we have a dog and a cat. You should know what you want to do and how you plan to get there when you are in Houston. While my husband and I are happy to provide a place for you to stay, and share meals with you when I cook, we are unable to show you around the city. Even 'though we are old farts, we have busy lives. We are centrally located within 4 miles of downtown, the Galleria, Rice University, Texas Medical Center, the Theater District and the Museum District. We have a bicycle you can borrow.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very much a "live and let live" person. We like meeting people of different cultures and interests. The world is a wonderful place and I travel every chance I get. I enjoy getting to know the people, culture, and food of the places I visit. If you are also non-judgmental and interested in meeting people who are from a different culture, we welcome you.
