Overview
About Me
I am a medstudent from Leipzig and that is where my university is - I live 60 kilometres away though, which means that I spend a lot of time in trains ... but as I am a book lover I sure know how to use those hours!
Other than that I love music and really am interested in what I study. I am doing a little bit of programming as well. When I grow up I want to build prostheses ...
As a student I am always on a low budged but I don't see any problem in that as it forces me to decide what to spend my money on - every penny is there only once. For me that means that I hardly ever go out for food and make my own coffee to go, but also that I have a good camera, traveled five continents. As a nice side effect I can always help people out with things from my survival kit ;-)
At the moment I am doing Erasmus in Budapest - so I am curious to get to know the people, culture and landscape of Hungary!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is meeting great people and finding a cheap accommodation (or offering it) at the same time - enabling me to kill two birds with one stone (although I don't like that expression - poor birds!) when traveling.
I like to explore new cities on my own or in the company of friends and I like long talks just about everything. But I am perfectly fine with just finding a place to sleep in busy times - it really depends.

Music, Movies, and Books
Leipzig is the city of books - the national library and the gigantic book fair every spring are just examples for the omnipresence of literature in the city.
I read almost everything - based on recommendation, out of general interest in the topic and there is the third category of books that I read because they are classics.
I am not a huge fan of thrillers though - I prefer Agatha Christie-like crime novels.

Teach, Learn, Share
I am always interested in whatever there is to learn!
And here comes a more specific answer: I am pretty good with languages and always like to learn some more and in case it is not a realistic thing for me to learn a language sustainably (e.g. when I am not staying in that country very long and there is no way I am ever going to have to use it) I like to learn fun facts about it, bits and pieces about some grammar or pronunciation - I told you I am bibliophile ;-)
I am currently working on myself - I still got some issues with staying cool when something does not work out the way I planned even though my experience shows me that most of the time, whatever happens, is going to turn out to make everything better - you might just not be able to see it right away ;-) - what was that quote like again? "Everything is going to be fine in the end. If it's not fine it's not the end." Oscar Wilde
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a decent cook, I can share my stories, pictures, and warm personality ;-)
