About Me

I'm originally from St. Louis, Missouri, USA. I left the midwest and headed to northern California. After a few years, I found that my job wasn't where I wanted to be, so I left the states and headed to South Korea to be an English teacher. I taught English for 2 years and then went into HRD work training other teachers. I made the jump to move back to the states, so now I'm back in St. Louis to be near my family. My newest adventure is working in clinical oncology research.

Although moving around hasn't always been easy, adapting and learning about new places and people is something I've always loved. I'm comfortable staying in watching movies or heading out to the bars.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm love meeting new people and traveling. Couchsurfing seems to be a great way to meet and hang out with locals or other travelers while exploring a new place.

Interests

I love going out and listening to live music, people watching, and exploring new places. I'm always open to check out a new cafe, a museum exhibit, or an outdoor market. Just walking down a new street and seeing what's going on is great, too. I'm a big foodie so trying new foods will always make me excited!

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up dancing, so anything to move around to is great. I pretty much like all genres except heavy metal. I'm a fan of the Roots, Green Day, Mika, Pharrell, and Sam Smith. I also like old school 90s Korean music. I'm all over the place.

Movies... the first few that come to mind are Back To the Future, the Handmaiden, and Happenstance. Comedy, romance, action, drama - all good. It's just the horror films I can't handle too well... I may have left a theater or two before. I also watch Korean dramas pretty regularly.

I love reading. Right now I'm reading short stories by Lydia Davis. I'm always open to new book suggestions!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked around Europe for a month on my own! It was my first time traveling alone and I'm so glad I did it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you English and Korean or... really bad dancing. I like to cook, but I'm still figuring that one out.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can entertain you with random stories or trivia, bring gifts, clean, or try to help cook! Whatever I can do to help.
