About Me
Travelling and hosting for me are a way to understand the world.
Since my studies are slowly but surely coming to an end, I want to find my place in this world and my way to have an impact.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I appreciate the couchsurfing travelling style, as I´ve had a lot of unique experiences that I wouldn´t have had as a "normal tourist". I´ve gotten to know people who were very different from each other and I found it very fascinating to be shown their home cities, their lifestyles and their perspectives.
When I travel, it does not matter much if I have seen all the famous monuments of a place. There are things way more important to me: To connect to locals. To get to know the culture. To find similarities and differences. To take in the specific atmosphere of a city or place. To understand what moves people who live there.
I like to be shown the hidden beautiful places and see the city though the eyes of a local person.
The same applies to me as a host: I might ask you if you want to join me in any event of my daily life or if you would like to come hang out with my friends.
Please, also read the section about my home carefully to get some more information.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a lot of musical styles, even though I don´t have a specific favourite artist. My musical taste very much depends on the occasion and ranges from classical music and jazz and funk to commercial music and Latin American music. I am very bad with remembering song titles or artists, though. ;)
I´m always keen on being shown new bands and musical styles.
I like to read fiction as well as non-fiction. Usually I read while travelling, because I have time. ;) When it comes to books, I´m especially interested in books that deal with interesting characters/relationships or some psychological or philosophical phenomenon.
My taste in movies corresponds with the books I like to read. I also very much enjoy watching documentaries. Popularity is not a criterion for me, that´s why I honestly don´t know many classical movies. Furthermore, I enjoy watching movies in the original language, if it´s available, but it´s not a must. Besides, I also like watching comedies and romances for entertainment. One of my favourite directors is Woody Allen.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- my year in the US: I went there after I´d finished school and it´s been a great experience. A new place became my home, I made friends from all over the world and travelled to so many different places.
This experience encouraged me to join an international students´ organisation, to live abroad a second time, to learn another language and to be eager to see more of Europe and the world.
- One of my couchsurfing hosts showed me how to dance salsa. It has been one of my passions ever since.
Teach, Learn, Share
Next to my studies, I work as an intercultural trainer. I can share some insights about the German culture and the cultures of the countries I have lived in. And of course I´m excited to hear about yours.
A while ago I have started learning Spanish. I always look for opportunities to practise this beautiful language.
I am currently learning and practising meditation.
Another thing I like to exchange are ideas, opinions and perspectives. I am convinced that we can all learn so much from each other.
