ABOUT ME

Most of my life has been spent living aboard a sailboat. I raised 2 daughters aboard, mostly on my own. The freedom of this lifestyle enabled us to meet people from all over the planet who were also traveling on boats. Recently though I bought a home in the mountains on the western side of Puerto Rico. My boat is in NJ where I reside in the summer months and the rest of the time we are in PR

I live a peaceful life. Try to leave a clean wake. I practice 4 agreements everyday.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not participated in couchsurfing formally but have hosted many people on a bunk on my boat and at my home in the mountains. Both places I live are vacation destinations so meeting people is easy. I enjoy showing people places off the beaten path. I think I would be a good host as well as a traveler when the time comes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet here,but last summer a Canadian man from Montreal was sailing a Hobie Cat from Miami to Canada and stayed aboard my boat for a week .

Interests

I love the water,sailing, beachcombing,swimming, diving. I also enjoy growing tropical flowers hiking in the mountains, finding waterfalls. I love music from everywhere and enjoy dancing. I am trying to learn Spanish as I work in a restaurant/bar in PR. It would help.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Johnny Depp. He has portrayed some great characters.My favorite is Don Juan DeMarco. I am also a fan of the late Hunter Thompson. Books and music is vast,latin,alternative adult is what is on the sirius radio.I like jazz...Books, I enjoy historical fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in my late teens I helped sail a 50' sailboat as crew from Florida to the Caribbean. Being out in the ocean for weeks watching the sunrise and sunset around you with just water everywhere is pretty amazing. I did not know then that it would become my lifestyle.

Teach, Learn, Share

My perspectives on life are very positive. I enjoy sharing that with others who sometimes are stuck. Just waking up happy is infectious and affects the people around. Recently the town I live in was hit dead on with a hurricane. I was involved in the initial recovery mostly I think I was successful because of my coping skills taught over a lifetime on the water.
