I couchsurfed and camped my way across the country 3 times--met lots of great people!

Some favorite books in general include: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Catcher in the Rye, The Hours, Written on the Body, Middlesex, anything by Kurt Vonnegut or Barbara Kingsolver. Theory/Philosophy of Foucault, Deleuze, Irigaray, Elizabeth Grosz, Stuart Hall. Feminism of bell hooks, Susan Douglas, Susan Bordo.
Music: faves include Wilco, Sonic Youth, Andre Bird, The National, Spiritualized, David Bowie, James, Neil Young.
Movies: favorites include The Hours, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Far From Heaven, Igby Goes Down, Muppet Movie, Sound of Music, Rushmore, Spanish Prisoner, Food, Inc...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling alone. To me, it's an amazing experience that is severely underrated.
Also, was 6 feet away from a bison while hiking in the Black Hills. That was pretty cool.
Just did my first solo Backpacking trip, May 2012, In Yosemite--amazing! Pushing your body to the limits, enjoying the solitude, and surviving on your own.
