About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See new things, meet new people, do new stuff, play music, dance.

ABOUT ME
I'm an open book, for the most part. I try to be as honest as I know how, and make the people around me comfortable. I'm always trying to decide what to do with myself, and trying to have fun in the process.

PHILOSOPHY

the tao that can be spoken is not the eternal tao

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host travelers when I can, and travel when I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been both surfing and hosting for several years now.

Interests

I like to roller skate, play music, listen to music, play with animals, go for walks, rummage thrift stores, write poems, drink tea, eat yummy vegan food, ...and I love making new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've read just about every book by Haruki Murakami that's been translated; he is one of my favorite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2012 I hiked 600+ miles on the Appalachian Trail. The trail community was unlike any I'd ever been a part of- there was so much love and support and trust from all directions. This outpouring of generosity that we received as hikers, coupled with being out in the woods every day and seeing all kinds of new flowers, wildlife, and vistas made for a truly memorable experience.
When I was 21 I lived out of my van in so. cal, and played with several bands while I was there: a gypsy/bluesy project called D.on Darox and the Melody Joy Bakers (based in Ventura), and a Latin band by the name of Todo Mundo (San Diego). My involvement in both groups were short lived, but life-changing experiences nevertheless.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about music theory and about how to play the violin. I enjoy cooking and baking and could probably teach a little and learn a lot in this area.
I can teach a lot of Spanish and a decent bit of Portuguese, and I'm always eager to learn more of these languages if you're a native speaker- I'm also very interested in learning French, Italian, and German :)
