About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying the summer.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently doing a Bachelor of Science in Ecology. I don't know what exactly I'm going to do with that but I'm sure it will be cool because I can be a science nerd about cool plants and wildlife and actually know what I'm talking about.
I enjoy hanging out with people but sometimes I'm socially awkward or think it's okay to ask people you don't know to tell you facts about themselves. Sometimes I'm shy and sometimes I talk way too much about things that don't even matter.
I'm trying to be more ethical, whatever that means. I'm vegetarian, buy most things second hand, recycle and compost. It's the best I can do at the moment. I'm looking forward to growing my own vegetables when I'm not moving around all the time. I've spent years trying not to live in Auckland but I've found myself back here again so I'm sure once I'm done with studying I'll be ready to move someplace else.

PHILOSOPHY

Someone said to me once that when you have to make a decision, make the wisest choice possible and then forget about it because the moment of absolute certainty never arrives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment we have a new baby so not hosting at present.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was when we met the legendary James Nash somewhere near Melbourne in Australia. The first time I actually surfed a couch was in Paris with a deaf white cat called Winston who liked to nibble on my toes. Since then I have met loads of couch surfers and hosted an abundance of them when our house held the only hosts in Te Anau.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is one of those things where people ask me what I like and I have no idea. I like music, and there are songs I like, but I can tell you what they're called or who sings them or what genre they are. Except for Barenaked Ladies, anything old school rock n roll, and some bluegrass.
Luckily someone has come to the rescue and is giving me music that I might like. Successes are Kitty, Daisy and Louis, The Misfits' 1950s Project, Dinosaur Junior, Foxboro Hot Tubs and some other stuff that I forgot already.

Books. I love to read. End of story.

Movies. I'm easy to please. Recently, I enjoyed Moonrise Kingdom and Looper.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sun rise from tops of mountains.

Teach, Learn, Share

Someone described me once as being able to build a fire underwater so if you want some tips on firebuilding in the rain, maybe I can help. I can set up a slackline and offer some tips but I'm no expert.
I always want to learn more about lots of things but in particular NZ Sign Language, more rock n roll dance moves and how to play guitar. I'm trying to teach myself (guitar) but progress is slow.
