Overview
About Me
I live in a cosy house in Tilburg with my boyfriend and 2 cats. I love nature, photography, travelling and volunteering, really hate cooking :), am scared of heights and scorpions, love watching (preferrably UK-based) programs about house hunting and escaping to the country, can spend my days reading, relaxing and daydreaming (about all the places on my bucketlist, like Iceland, Scotland, the Eolian Islands or the Traena Festival, which takes place on a remote Island near the arctic circle in Norway).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people, sharing stories and experiences and gaining more knowledge about the world around me. Of course I could do this also while staying at ho(s)tels or talking to people in public places, but I also have a great curiosity to see how people live. With couchsurfing, I can do both :)
Interests
I love discovering places which are off the beaten track (and sometimes get in dire situations because of that), experiencing different cultures and ways of live, being in nature (hiking, cycling, swimming, exploring gorges, having a picknick at a beautiful lake, watching a beautiful sunrise or sunset), doing volunteerwork (abroad), photography, reading, watching documentaries, doing boardgames or playing cards and of course hanging out with friends and drinking nice Belgian beers :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I always forget the titles of the movies/books I saw/read :)
But I found myself laughing out loud constantly (and reading passages to my boyfriend) when I was reading a book from Dimitri Verhulst, cried my eyes out when I was reading Angela's Ashes (about a poor and miserable Irish childhood), felt adventurous, excited and like a kid again when I was reading Harry Potter (over and over again) and I read Scandinavion books/thrillers when I need some space in my head (because it brings me peace and quiet).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
*I've had a scorpion in my bed while I was doing volunteerwork in India and got stung twice. That really hurt!
* white-water rafting in Norway
* exploring the beautiful landschape of Cappadocia on foot and by air (in a hot air balloon)
* taking a shared-taxi in Uganda (even the driver sits on someone elses lap....)
* having amazingly beautiful beaches and coves all to myself in Sardinia
Teach, Learn, Share
Cycling (I'm Dutch, need I say more.... :), Dutch language, having a picknick or hike at my favorite spot (= a beautiful lake near Tilburg called 'de Galgeven').
I am currently creating a website about volunteering abroad. So an exchange of ideas, experience and knowledge (about creating a website, doing volunteerwork etc) is always very welcome.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Just talking and having a good time, playing cards or boardgames, enjoying nature, having a drink at a bar, trying out Dutch food (like pepernoten, stroopwafels, drop or mona-toetjes) or whatever we would like to do together (I don't drink coffee tough :)
