About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am falling in love with the process of travelling especially when I connect with locals and the community . In addition, I am appreciating every learning moment that is presented to me because just as I am discovering the new destination, I am also discovering more about myself.

Interests

I love sharing stories, writing and reflecting, sharing quotes , singing karaoke, dancing like no one is watching, having dialogue about cultural to political topics. ALWAYS appreciate opportunities where I get to challenge myself and lean into my discomfort zone.

Music, Movies, and Books

"You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place."
-Miriam Adeney

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finding the courage to drop the "time line" in my life and backpack Southeast Asia with my sister and brother with VERY VERY limited funds as we are poor students. This became the first time I traveled out of the country and this also became our first time having this much contact with each other. This was also a tribute to my grandparents that always missed their homeland after fleeing to America during the Vietnam war.

Teach, Learn, Share

my personal experience as a first generation university student that is from low-income background that found the way to retain and provide access to disadvantage communities to pursue higher education. I love to laugh and I love to reflect about life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

my dancing and karaoke skills, practice speaking in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka, Spanish., tips on organizing community programming events, the personal experience of being a child of Vietnamese Refugee who became socially conscious during my college years.
