CURRENT MISSION

Successfully navigate a 3-week summer adventure with our newly expanded family. (We welcomed a baby boy in January!) Mini-adventures (camping, roadtrips!) have already been accomplished, now time to expand!

ABOUT US

Laid-back, active, extroverted, semi-well traveled, love to laugh.

Obsessed with skiing and equally enamored with hiking/camping in the summer. Summer afternoon barbecues with friends and a little bocce ball can't be beat either. We're pretty big on adventuring in general, and spending time with awesome people. (We like getting people together too! Host a monthly potluck - Smorgasbord! - with a wide ranging guest list of friends and friends of friends. Organized a herd of friendly cats (friends) to make yurts and head to Burning Man etc...)

I'm an event planner - my husband Wes is in real estate, and our son Finn will be along. He's pretty low-key for a baby! (Phew, I think we lucked out on the easy baby front.)

We both feel strongly about focusing on experiences rather than 'things'. I'm a bit of a foodie, Wes just loves food ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I (Lindsey) got into surfing pretty randomly via a trip to southern California. I was solo-tripping down for a business trip, but there was a concert that I wanted to see...but not alone. One post on a music message board found me a ride, some new friends, a place to stay. I ended up extending my trip! I went from a very nervous surfer to an instant convert. As soon as a friend let me know about this website, I was in!

Over the years I've hosted and surfed, and got to introduce Wes to couchsurfing by carting over random Germans etc...to his place. haha We've also surfed together in India and beautiful Nelson! Our adventuring has been more hiking/camping based in recent years. Our suburban place isn't the most ideal for hosting, but there's rumblings of a move in the next year or two so mayhaps we'll be hosting again sooner than we know!
