Hi everyone -- nice to meet you!

I'm a 21 year old girl from Indiana, USA. I am working as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital and I'm loving it, which I never thought I would say about a job! I'm all about being out of your comfort zone and trying out new experiences and growing as a person -- I hope I can learn from you and your culture, and I hope that I can teach you a little bit about mine!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always had a fascination with faraway places, ever since I was little and my dad would put on the History Channel and the Travel Channel. To this day I love getting sucked in to travel shows -- it's a way for me to experience a faraway land, even if just in my mind! I feel that this planet is so rare, it's such an incredible place, it would be a shame not to see it, or at least try! There is so much experience to be had from learning new languages and cultures.

I hope to take a trip to Germany or Iceland within the next year. Flights are pretty expensive, unfortunately! So I'll be saving up for that. In the meantime, if anyone would like to improve their English, I can help you with that, if you'll help me with my German :) Thanks so much!

Interests

I enjoy learning about other cultures (obviously), gardening, fantasy, tabletop games (D&D/Pathfinder), creating (painting, sculpting, drawing), trying new foods and cuisines, spontaneous adventure, nature, and animals! I can appreciate a good beer and enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine with friends and good conversation! I'm always intent on learning about, well, just about everything! Nature captivates me in a way like little else can, and I really love learning about cuisines and ways of life.

I took German in school for 5 years, but since graduating in 2013 I've gotten a bit rusty. I want to visit Germany one day, for sure! I also want to visit Scandinavia and Iceland! Such beautiful countries :) Well, I'd like to see everywhere, but those are the ones that I would like to visit first and foremost!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on an incredible rock climbing trip (a few, actually) with my high school class, where we went to Minnesota and climbed on real rock face, 200 feet above Lake Superior. That was a thrilling experience.
