About Me

CURRENTLY TRAVELLING
I started from Shunde, a small town famous for gourmet in Guangdong, south China, then move north wards along the coastal line, provinces after provinces. I leave for Osaka, Japan from Shanghai by ship(which was hit by a big cargo ship after just as it leaves Shanghai. Story time if you meet me!). I travelled around kansai area, enjoyed the streets and temples. Then I arrived in Seoul, where I chill and slowed down. This is where I started couchsurfing. And I had so much fun! Looking back I feel like I missed out a lot by choosing hostel at the start of my trip.

WHY DO I TRAVEL
When I graduated from college I started working in Shenzhen for two years. The shared apartment was small so I was never in a position of hosting. As time goes by I started too feel discontent with the life. I was not unhappy, but I felt like I lost touch with what life is. I quitted, struggled to find what I really want with my life, with no success. Then I thought about the grand tour around China I wanted in highschool but never happened. Now it's the time to do it! Now is the time I have nothing waiting ahead of me. No school, no work, it's endless possibilities. So I started the trip! To learn about the world. Other cities, other lifestyles... So many possibilities and why should I be confined to a 9-5 job? Maybe I would comeback to the same lifestyle, maybe I won't. But even if I do, I'll be a different person :)

MY ROUTE
Shunde (famous for its food), zhuhai, Macao, Hongkong, back to shenzhe, Xiamen and Quanzhou. Then to Hangzhou, Suzhou ,Nanjing which I fell in love with, and Shanghai. Osaka, Kouyasan, Kobe, Kyoto, nara, Himeji (for the Castle!), Seoul.

MY THOUGHTS ON COUCHSURFING
Instead of going after travel sites, being able to talk with local people, to feel a glimpse of the intimacy of daily life, is much more interesting.

PHYLOSOPHY
Life is best when it's a little weird.

FUTURE TRAVEL PLAN
Continue north in China, get down south through inland, then take a tour in SEA countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Trips should be learning about a lifestyle carried by the locals, instead of mere tour to tourists sites.

Interests

I love history and culture. The must-go place for me in a new city is its museum. I love food and would like to try just everything.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classical music, world music, minimalism, new era, instrumental music.

Mathew Lien, Damien Rice, Ludovico Einaidi, Olfur Analds, Kunihiko Ryo, Hosaisi Jo, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Dvorak, Shostakovich, Elgar... so many! I like musical history. I used to go to operas and And orchestra concert a lot.

I play piano and guitar. Have learnt cello and violin before but... :).

I like drama with good plot or nice graph. I never read as much as I wish I do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started this trip.
Survive a shipwreck?
Hike 20km in Kouyasan alone and got rescued by a kind Japanese man in dark road of the mountain when bus services stop.

Teach, Learn, Share

Language skills. It would be awesome to bring home a recipe :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a cheerful person. We can talk about travel, music, food, history. We can cook or exercise together. We can play instruments together. I can maybe teach some languages.

Countries I’ve Visited

Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, South Korea

Countries I’ve Lived In

China
