About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In 2015, I traveled to 32 countries over 11 months, most of which were in the continents of Australia, Asia, Africa and South America! In total, I've been to 45 countries, and I hope to someday visit them all.

MORE ABOUT ME

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and in total, I have lived in 8 different U.S. states/territories!

My biggest passions are travel (obviously), music (singing, especially) and making new friends! I have huge aspirations and numerous dreams that I am determined to strive for until they become realities :)

My biggest dream is one that many people share...a dream for a better world. My first goal for The Small World Project is to show human kindness across different cultures. I will meet incredible people and share their stories online via a video blog of my own creation. I want to show that despite our differences, we, the human race, are much more connected than most people realize. We all share the same basic wants and needs, and what we require to be happy is also generally the same across the board. We need food and shelter...we need to feel a sense of purpose, and most importantly, we need love. We find these things in a multitude of ways, many of which vary greatly between cultures. However, at the core, these basic desires we as individuals share are precisely what connect us the most. That is why, when visiting each different country, I will strive to view things through the eyes of the locals so that I may really get a feel of what it would be like to be a part of their unique communities.

I envision a world where people embrace cultures different from theirs…a world where politics, religion, race and other differences aren’t viewed with fear or hatred, rather with a healthy curiosity. This curiosity has always come naturally for me, but I’ve noticed that for many others, it does not. Technology has helped this problem to an extent by allowing people the opportunity to connect with others in ways we never before thought possible. These connections are allowing people to have a greater understanding of the world around them, thus helping spread acceptance of those different from us. Even so, it is my belief that we are most touched by the experiences we have first hand. Through traveling, we are given the opportunity to connect with the rest of the world on a much deeper level than simply connecting via the Internet or some other media source. That is why another goal of my journey is to encourage everyone to travel more!

It takes but a single raindrop in order to create a great ripple effect. I believe I have the power to be that raindrop, and like so many others before me, it all starts with a dream. I call my dream, “The Small World Project.”

I've hosted travelers through CouchSurfing in Los Angeles, Nashville, and Honolulu! I love meeting new people and helping make their travels as rewarding as possible :))

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have Couch Surfed all over the world! I surfed through the United States, South America, Australia/New Zealand, Asia/India/Middle East, and Africa. it has been a pleasure and an honor to meet so many wonderful people throughout my travels. I can honestly say that the most inspiring and overall incredible people I know (aside from my family, of course!) are those I have met through CS. It is my hope to keep spreading CouchSurfing's positive message of understanding and acceptance by continuing to host and surf and by encouraging new people to join!
