About Me
Hello! We have recently decided to throw caution to the wind and balk tradition, so to speak, to sacrifice "things" for "experiences" and thus are now refocusing on traveling the world and learning about other cultures! We have been home educators for the last 5 years and love the flexibility the lifestyle brings. We like to get outside and explore a little, walking and cycling and doing small hikes nearby wherever we are. We're also big time foodies and have adventurous palates -- willing to try just about anything, once or maybe even twice!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are not yet at a place where we can travel full time or even long term, so couch surfing may be a place for us to experience other people and cultures in our own home.
*****We are primarily interested in hosting older couples or families with children.

Music, Movies, and Books
In our house, we're currently listening to:
Imagine Dragons
90s hip hop/R&B (we lived several years in the southeastern United States and this is nostalgic for us!)
Ed Sheeran
Katie Perry
Justin Beiber (3 reasons: his stuff is catchy, we have a preteen daughter and he's Canadian #sorrynotsorry)
Fall Out Boy
90s rock (Steven mostly)
We have eclectic interests in music, books and movies...
Kids are into the Harry Potter series (books then movies), the tv show Once Upon a Time, and several YouTube channels.
Adults are into/have enjoyed the Aussie show MKR, the US Big Brother, Wentworth, Orange is the New Black, the US version of Shameless, True Blood, stand up comedy, Big Bang Theory, Friends, Brooklyn Nine Nine, American Ninja Warrior, Modern Family, Speechless and pretty much anything on the Food Network!
We've recently been reading mostly non fiction -- books about healthy eating/cooking, entrepreneurship and minimalism. Most recently we both really enjoyed Trevor Noah's memoirs, "Born a Crime."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's super cliched and cheesy, right, but...our kids! And probably building a successful business that helps support my family while providing me with a creative outlet and sense of accomplishment and pride. I think it's super important to embrace the "little things" as amazing things... Maybe I haven't "lived" much -- which is why we gotta get to traveling! :) (-- Lindsay)
