Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel successfully without making TOO many poor decisions!
ABOUT ME
I can be shy and quiet in one situation but loud and vulgar in another. I definitely don't take things too seriously and try to just enjoy the moment. I decided after graduating college that a "grown-up" job could wait and I could live my 27 year old life the way I want to (much to my mother's dismay) so I divide my time between working at a job where I can be myself, going out, and having the oh-so wonderful Me Days.
PHILOSOPHY
Live your life while you can! At 27 I feel I'm too young to settle down and be stuck doing anything when there's so much to see and experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't want to use this site just for a potentially free place to stay, but more specifically to meet people from all the places I plan to visit soon and, hopefully, make some lasting friendships.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I used CS for nearly half of the 14-week trip I took in spring of 2012. Never once did I have a negative experience, and there are multiple people I still keep in regular contact with today. If only I didn't live in Minnesota, more would be inclined to visit :)
Interests
I caught the travel-bug last year and went on a three month journey by myself. Now, I save up to do some more minor traveling once every year or so.
Besides that? I have a dog, and he's pretty great. And I like beer. Also, ice cream. I like ice cream.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't stick to one genre with anything I do.
Movies:
I can watch anything from Silence of the Lambs to Clueless to ANYTHING Miyazaki.
Music:
Radiohead and Muse are two of my ultimate favorites, but I like most music (even some I wish I didn't). I typically steer clear of most rap and country though, not my style.
Books:
If I had to choose, I'd say dystopian novels grab my attention most--favorites being 1984, Brave New World, Hunger Games, Oryx and Crake, etc. But I can enjoy anything from comedic light-hearted novels to all out fantasy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As my first real trip outside of the US borders, Japan made a huge impact. You think you've seen the friendliness of strangers until you've been there. The scenery won't be leaving my memories any time soon, nor will the convenience store food. Melon bread will ALWAYS have a big place in my heart.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom
