About Me

I've just finished my first CS-ing experience in the USA and I'm completely converted to it as a way of meeting people and connecting. I have loved staying with hosts and connecting with them and am looking to continue that back home in London. There is something truly wonderful about knowing when you meet people they are likely to be open minded, kind hearted and full of adventure. CSing has renewed my faith in people and their capabilities and I believe everyone is interesting and has great stories to tell.

I'm really interested in politics, people, education and I'm a massive foodie.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a recent member of couchsurfing and found it to be such a great way to connect with people; after all, that is what makes travelling such an incredible thing. To have a platform for people to share their stories, homes and experiences with one another can only serve to bring us closer together.

Interests

I've always loved travelling and this is my first trip in a while, and my first time in the US. Back home I do a lot of running and hiking and love seeing incredible sights and nature. I'm a social worker by profession so I enjoy getting to know people and learning from them- everyone has something you can learn from! I also have a big interest in politics, feminism and sociology so love to have conversations about them and hear new points of view.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am open to all types of music and enjoy being introduced to artists I've never heard of. I love listening to live jazz and blues music and recently discovered that my dancing skills fit well with country music!

Books include a lot of classics (to kill a mockingbird, shantaram) and I'm currently reading 'swing time', but my 'to read' list is really long.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sunset and the moonrise over the Great Smoky Mountains was one of the most beautiful moments of my life; topped off with shooting stars, the milky way and seeing three plants.

I also ran a marathon last year. I know, lots of people do this, but I was always the fat kid at the back of PE class so this was a huge achievement for me!

Teach, Learn, Share

I think everyone has something to teach others and something to learn. I like learning about new places and cultures and I am open to learning about anything. I want to share stories about life, share knowledge and share experiences along this journey.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer good conversation, in depth discussions, a sense of adventure and I make a mean cup of tea.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
