About Me
Hey there! I'm Lindsey and I'm from Watertown, WI and am currently in grad school at UW-Madison. I love showing foreigners around the places I know best and love getting the same experience when I travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I studied for a year in Madrid, Spain for a year and I figured this was the best way to see some of the places I want to go to in the future but may not have a guide to show me around. I'm always up for making new friends and seeing new places!

Music, Movies, and Books
I really like listening to any and all music and I have this weird list where I collect songs from every genre that I think would sound amazing in a movie. Whether its indie, classical, pop or in-between I'm all for it (I'll admit I'm weary of Country if it's not the right time to play it!)
I also love all movies, but I usually gravitate to something either romantic or dark. I really, really love TV shows like Game of Thrones, Dexter, . My favorite movies are Vertigo, Roman Holiday, American Beauty, and Sideways and I really love Wes Anderson films.
I wish I had more time to read, but honestly in the past few years I don't do it as much. After a week of reading textbooks for hours and hours, it's easier to gravitate to watching films/TV than reading a book! I usually prefer thrillers/action adventure books because the pacing keeps me awake longer if I'm reading before bed.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If we're talking amazing as in something I'm proud of, then I think it's amazing how many foreign people that I've tried to welcome into my "home" and by home I don't necessarily mean a physical place, but I always try to help foreigners find a way to make themselves comfortable in their environment. I think this is amazing not necessarily because I feel like I'm doing anything out of the ordinary, but I think it's amazing because of all the people that I have met and have shared their experiences with me. I think it's amazing how these people have helped shape the open mind that I have today.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: English, film analysis, bake banana bread, how to snap your fingers
Learn: language, non-touristy food places in town, how to whistle
Share: open mind, willingness not to leave your place like a pigsty, I usually know the answer to the question "what other movie is this actor in?", I laugh at all jokes (even the bad ones)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I hope that I can share a love of trying new things, good, open conversation, and a positive outlook on this world and the people in it.
I would love if you could show me your city the way you see it, because what better way than through the eyes of a local?
