About Me

Hello :)

My name is Lindsey. I'm currently live in Chicago, Illinois. I recently started a Graduate School program in Social Justice after working with those experiencing homelessness for a few years. I believe that life is truly about accompaniment, and being to present to those who are suffering. I enjoy traveling, culture, nature, religion/spirituality, reading and most especially, people. I love learning from others. I strive to be an open minded and compassionate person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of this website because it not only allows you to travel, but it enables you to meet others from different forms of life and experience life with them. Since I currently live on a monthly stipend (graduate school) money is a bit limited--so this website allows for me to travel with a lower budget, while at the same time meet and learn from others in different places around the globe. I think humanity is about connection and relationships. And this website allows for that!

Interests

I'm interested in most things, if I am honest. But to list a few: music, art, culture, theology, philosophy, psychology, nature, literature, sociology, people, ethics, writing, and reading. I also enjoy little appetitive things like: tea, ice cream and cheese.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a term in Yosemite where I studied humanities with only 40 other people. We lived in community with one another, studied with one another, ate with one another, backpacked with one another, and enjoyed nature together. It was lovely.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always up for a philosophical conversation regarding the nature of life and existence itself, but I also love to be silly.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope to offer hosts a kind, easy-going and friendly personality!
